Star New Season 4 Not Happening . FOX Canceled It

Hey, fellow “Star” fans. Yep, unfortunately, we don’t have the pleasure of being able to tell you your favorite show has officially been renewed for a new season 4 just yet. We’re still currently waiting for FOX to make an official announcement. Update: FOX did cancel it.

They did already renew the other Lee Daniels-produced show Empire for a new season 6. Empire and Star’s ratings and viewership numbers ended up close to being the same to cap off their latest seasons. Empire had a slight edge though.

If I had to guess, I would think FOX will go ahead and give Star a new season 4. Let’s go ahead and look at Star’s ratings and viewership number for season 3. It started off pretty strong and then slowly declined just like Empire. Most shows start off strong and then slowly taper off.

Star’s season 3 premiere episode brought in 4.638 million viewers, and it scored a 1.45 ratings number for the 18-49 year old demographics. After that, the numbers declined a bit, but it stayed steady, bringing in around 3 million plus viewers an episode with a 1.07 average rating score. It averaged 3.544 million viewers an episode. So, that’s not to shabby.

Empire, which has already been renewed, averaged 4.543 million viewers an episode during its latest season 5. It averaged a 1.36 ratings score.

The latest star episode that aired on Wednesday night, May 1, 2019 brought in 2.942 million viewers, and it score a 0.89 for the ratings.

So, with that said, we certainly would not be surprised if FOX came out with a season 4 renewal for Star pretty soon. In fact, we hope and pray that they do. We love that show. The music is always on point and the storylines are super intense and intriguing as hell.

Both Empire and Star keep us on the edge of our seats almost every Wednesday night. So, we want them both back. TV Line reported that Empire is still the number 2 show on FOX’s primetime schedule. So, we would think that Star is not far behind with their ratings and viewership numbers.
