Amazing Race June 26, 2019 Colin And Christie Won It All (Finale Episode Recap)

Hey, “Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, June 26, 2019, the huge season 31, 2-hour finale episode did indeed air. It kicked off with the final four teams learning they had to make their way to London, England to retrieve their first clue for this leg of the race.

Victor ignored Leo and Jamal because he was still heated that they u-turned he and Nicole in the last leg of the race.

Once the teams arrived in London, they had to catch a taxi to the Gatwick Aviation Museum to get their next clue. Once the teams got to the museum, they had to take a helicopter ride to Dover Castle to get their next clue.

Leo and Jamal were the first team to make it to Dover Castle. Once they arrived, they learned they had to complete a Roadblock challenge. During this Roadblock challenge, one team member had to solve a secret code after listening to a speech by Chamberlain. Afterwards, the team member had to use specific words to crack the code and type the answer on a typewriter to retrieve their next clue.

After completing the Road Block challenge, the teams had to take a helicopter ride to a pier. At this pier, they got a new clue that directed them to Piccadilly Circus. They had to go there by speed boat and locate a woman that was painted in gold to get their next clue.

After the teams tracked down this gold painted woman, they ran into their detours for this leg of the race. They could chose either the “Know” detour or the “Row” detour.

In the “Know” detour, the teams had to memorize a very detailed cab route in order to get their next clue. They had to recite the whole route which featured 22 directions.

In the “Row” detour, the teams had to row a 200 meter course in less than a minute to get their next clue.

After the teams successfully completed their detour, they were directed to head to the Camden Market which was the pit stop for this leg of the race.

Leo and Jamal arrived in first place. However, host Phil Keoghan revealed that they had one last task they had to complete before he could check them in. In this task, the teams had to pick up some items at the market and bring them back to Phil.

The items they had to get were a trunk, a lamp, a drum, a corset, a rug, a camera, boots, and a tea kettle. So, it was a lot of freaking stuff!

Leo and Jamal did indeed find all the items first to hold on to that number 1 spot. Tyler and Korey came in 2nd place. Colin and Christie took that very important 3rd place to knock out poor Nicole and Victor. They took their defeat well saying, “We never thought we’d get this far.”

Right after that, hour 2 started , and it featured the final leg or the $1 million dollar leg. The teams learned they had to catch a flight to Detroit, Michigan to get their hands on the very first clue of this final leg of the race.

Once the teams got to Detroit, they had to take a taxi to the Guardian Building to get their next clue. Once they got to the Guardian Building, the teams had to complete another Roadblock challenge. Leo and Jamal were in the lead at this point.

During this Roadblock, the teams had to rappel face forward 500 feet down the side of the Guardian building. They also had to spot numbers on their way down and use the numbers to unlock a combination to get their next clue.

After successfully completing this Roadblock, the teams learned they had to go to the Fowling Warehouse to get their next clue. Colin and Christie took the lead here. At the Fowling Warehouse, the teams had to play a game of fowling, which is a combination of football and bowling.

In this game, they had to knock down all their pins with a football in order to get their next clue. After successfully completing the Fowling game, the teams had to go to Third Man Records to get their next clue.

Tyler and Korey took the lead at this point due to Colin and Christie’s taxi cab driver leaving them. Christie was super pissed, and I don’t blame her.

Once the teams arrived at Third Man Records, they had to produce five records in perfect condition to get their next clue. Leo and Jamal fell way behind at the Guardian building.

After successfully finishing up the Third Man Records task, the teams had to head to the Hart Plaza to get their next clue. Colin and Christie took their lead back at this point.

Once the teams arrived at the Hart Plaza, they had to correctly assemble a five piece drum set to get their next clue. During this time, a lot of people were standing around the teams and singing, “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.

Colin and Christie managed to complete their drum set just a few minutes before Tyler and Korey could get their’s done. It was still close though as Tyler and Korey were right behind them.

At this point, the teams had to make it to Fort Wayne which was the pit stop for this final $1 million dollar leg, and Colin and Christie just proved to be too good as they arrived first to claim that $1 million dollar grand prize!

So, much congrats to Christie Woods and Colin Guinn. Tyler and Korey showed up in second place a few minutes after Christie and Colin. Then finally, Jamal and Leo made it to the finish line after having a very rough time.
