MasterChef August 8, 2019 Eliminated Fred Chang (Recap)

MasterChef August 8, 2019 Eliminated Fred Chang (Recap)

Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, August 8, 2019, another elimination episode for this 10th season did indeed air with judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez, and Joe Bastianich. Tonight’s episode kicked off with Micah getting to pick someone from his winning team to participate in tonight’s elimination challenge.

Micah ended up picking Subha because he didn’t follow instructions and what not. Next, it was revealed that the contestants had to make a delicious dish out of the following main ingredients: Shellfish, filet mignon and black truffle.

Gordon demonstrated how he would use those ingredients. He made a quick surf and turf truffle dish really, really fast. Bri was really impressed.

Next, it was revealed that the contestants had 45 minutes to complete their dishes. Bri said she felt comfortable making the dish. Bri told Joe and Aaron what she was making at one point. They liked what they heard.

Nick told Gordon what he was making. Gordon gave him some advice. Subha told Joe and Aaron that he was making some sort of shrimp dish.

Shari told Gordon she was doing something involving mushrooms, wild rice, caramelized carrots and more. At one point, Shari told Gordon, “If I go home,I deserve it.”

Noah told Joe and Aaron what he was making. They gave him some help with his dish and had him taste the truffle. They said it taste like dirt. Ugh.

At one point, the judges said Fred is stabbing himself in the foot by trying to make fresh noodles from scratch. He also ran into issues with cooking the meat.

Bri said she might be in trouble. She fell behind. Shari’s carrots burned, but she said she wasn’t thrown off by it.

Gordon said a couple of Subha’s dishes were looking good at just over 3 minutes left. However, Subha had trouble plating at 25 seconds left, but he got it done.

Once the time was up, the contestants had to present what they cooked. Fred was up first. He presented a ginger and butter filet mignon dish.

Gordon said, “The noodles are the star. The filet turned grey.” Joe said, “The filet is raw, but it’s seasoned well.” Joe got a chance to taste a part of the filet that was cooked. Fred was in big trouble for presenting raw meat. That’s dangerous.

Shari presented a Porcini-Crusted filet mignon and wild rice dish. Gordon said, “Visually, it looks nice. You cooked the rice beautifully. I wish everything else tasted better than the rice.” Joe said, “It’s so good.” Aaron said, “It’s very unconventional but smart.”

Nick presented a filet mignon and brown butter dust dish. Aaron said, “It’s beautiful and gorgeous.” Gordon said, “The beef is cooked beautifully.” In regards to the butter dust, Joe said, “It doesn’t taste like anything.” Aaron said, “It just doesn’t fit.”

Noah presented a butter crusted filet mignon dish: Gordon said, “It’s delicious.” Aaron and Joe agreed with Gordon.

Bri presented a pan fried filet mignon and butter poached dish. Gordon said, “The filet is delicious. It’s cooked beautifully. The pomme puree doesn’t taste like a truffle puree.” Joe and Aaron agreed. They really criticized Bri for not using more of the truffle in her dish. It was almost non-existent they said.

Lastly, Subha presented a filet mignon and white asparagus dish. Gordon said, “The filet is cooked beautifully. The green beans and asparagus don’t go together. The filet is seasoned well.” Joe said, “It’s spiced in a way that feels more exotic.” Aaron said something about it being way too spicey.

Next, the judges deliberated and decided to immediately save: Subha, Noah, Shari and Nick. That left poor Bri and Fred as the bottom two. Then ultimately, the judges eliminated Fred. So, Bri just barely escaped elimination.

I had a feeling when Fred presented that raw meat, he was done. That’s a big no, no. On a bright note for Fred, Gordon did tell Fred that he made a call to chef Christina Tosi to see if he can go work for her. So, that was nice as hell. Fred was ecstatic.

To Gordon Ramsey I think u should have kept fred and let bro walk because fred put all the ingredient u said in and yes his meat wasn’t done but he did use all the ingredients but bri didn’t use all the ingredients that’s made me feel like the show is rigged she didn’t use any truffle but she still got to stay where fred used all 3 ingredients and he got eliminated from the show that right there is the reason y masterchef is a joke because u don’t follow the rules

Can’t believe they saved Bri AGAIN.

Pretty evident Bir should have gone home. Third time in a row at the bottom. Fred has been excellent. But he’s not a blond Barbie so hmmmmmm……makes you wonder.

  6. Jody Ursan says:

What gets me about this show is that the contestants are criticized if the do something outside of the box, but also if they play it too safe! I as well believe the show is rigged. They know from the get go who they want to see at the finale.

tired of blonde Bri wiping tears every week because she is not good as the rest. Get rid of her already, Fred was a much better cook.

  10. Danny Johnson says:

Bri has been on the bottom 3wks time for her to go. Fred was a better chef.

  11. Mary Perry says:

I agree with most of the comments on here Fred should’ve stayed and Bri should have gone she’s been in the bottom three this was her third time she needed to go her crybaby attitude and I got to continue to watch her ugh she makes it to the finale I will not watch

Bri defines the word maudlin dramatically. She is the proclaimed Plating Queen. Alas this is a showcase for chefs, not a qualifier for The Bachelorette.

  13. Anonymous says:

How you all seem to feel about Bri, is how I feel about Subha. ?

What a joke, total favoritism on this show!!! Bri should of been gone long time ago as she obviously doesn’t know how to cook. Sad they let Fred go over her.

  15. Terry Traylor says:

Bri is no cook. She a crying baby and do not know how to Cook

  16. Jo says:

I also agree that Bri should have gone. She totally left out a main ingredient. Fred’s filet was rare but all the ingredients were there. Fred has more skills then Bri. She plates well is all. I also wonder if things are rigged

  17. Anonymous says:

I’m sad Fred left. He is a better cook than Bri. There should be a wild card. Bring Fred back and give him another chance.

  18. Anonymous says:

Bri is the one that should of gone home you guys are becoming a joke . Bring Fred back!!!!

  19. Magie Easa says:

I’m not even sure Bri is real. She looks like a full size plastic Barbie Doll. I have seen her wearing heels in the kitchen. Really? She needed to be gone. No great loss there.

  20. Anonymous says:

Totally shocked that Bri stayed. So she can plate…that doesn’t make her a cook.

High heels and fake eyelashes…time to go.

  21. Penny Childers says:

Cannot believe Fred is gone, horrible mistake!!!! Bri should of been gone long time ago!!!! So upset, not for sure if I will finish the season!!

  22. Anonymous says:

Bri was in the bottom in so many tests! They should have kept Fred. Not ok.

  23. Carol S says:

Bri is saved every time she is at the bottom. Something is wrong with the show and judges. Pure favoritism. Bri is such a lousy cook and they refused to send her home. What a joke!!!!

  24. azie says:

    Bri has to go

  25. Teri says:

I think Bri+Fred=LUV they were torn apart!!!

  30. Michelle says:

Fred was great. Sorry but I though Bri should have gone home. Fred is an awesome cook. Bri has messed up quite a bit. Hope she now can step it up. Keep cooking Fred!

  31. Anonymous says:

So should have been Bri. Fred has way more talent and doesn’t cry.

  32. Anonymous says:

That was the most unfair elimination I’ve seen in the MasterChef so far. By their own standards, they should have eliminated Bri and not Fred, who won the most challenges and is overall a better cook. That whole elimination felt so set up – what a disappointment. STOP MANIPULATING

  33. Sabra says:

Dude why is BRI still on the show!!!! She obviously isn’t a master chef cook and they just keep letting her through. Fred shoulda been chosen over her period.

  34. Anonymous says:

so funny… Bri’s dish was delicious, all 3 said so. She was only in the bottom this time because she did not use ENOUGH truffle. Shari used the truffle only in her sauce, as well, but not criticized for it. Fred’s meat was GRAY! Egads! And still you complain that Bri should have gone home. You’re a bunch of followers and idiots.

  35. Marjorie McCormick says:

Makes me not want to watch if your going to judge unfairly. Bring Fred back!!

  36. Theresa says:

I think Fred should have stayed, he has previously done very well. Bri should have gone or Subha..

  37. Anonymous says:

Fred was great chef. He should have stayed

  38. Chevy Love says:

Bri should have gone home a long time ago! I’m not going to watch anymore if she doesn’t go home soon. She’s gotta be sleeping with someone! Or everyone

  39. Anonymous says:

Bri has been on at The bottom in the past three or four episodes, i’m also tired of her crying . I’m losing interest in the show and I really would like to know who is she dating or related to????!!!
