‘Empire’ New, Final Season 6 Premiere Date Officially Revealed By FOX

‘Empire’ New, Final Season 6 Premiere Date Officially Revealed By FOX

Hey, “Empire” fans. We’re back at you with some very important news. FOX, not too long ago, put out their new schedule for their Fall TV shows. Of course, Empire was on that list with an official premiere date for its final season 6.

Yep, that’s right, guys. Season 6 will officially be the last season, which I think sucks. Anyways, with no further ado, the new season 6 is scheduled to hit the airwaves on Tuesday night, September 24, 2019 at 8 pm central standard time on FOX of course.

So, be sure to mark down that very important date on your TV show calendars. As you can see, Empire has actually been bumped to a new night this season. It used to air on Wednesday nights. Now, you’ll have to switch your viewing schedules to Tuesday nights to catch it LIVE.

It also has a new time slot of 8 pm central standard time instead of 7 pm. It used to be paired with its spin off show “Star,” but it sadly got canceled. I was really broken up about that too. I always looked forward to watching both Star and Empire on Wednesday nights.

I guess it’s true that all good things must come to an end. It’s certainly true for the Empire and Star tandem.

Instead, Empire will be paired up with a show called “The Resident.” It’s going to air in the 7 pm central time slot. It will be the third season for “The Resident.” If any of you guys are fans of “The Resident,” this will probably be good news for you.

It’s currently unclear how many episode the final season 6 of Empire will feature. We’re hoping FOX gives it the regular 18 episodes that it’s been giving it. However, with this being its final season, FOX might cut the episode count down. We’ll have to wait and see.

Taking a look at the numbers for Empire, it averaged 4.518 million LIVE viewers per episode in its previous season 5 and a ratings score of 1.35 for the 18-49 year old demographics. Apparently, that wasn’t strong enough for FOX to want to keep the show past the upcoming season 6.

So again, we’ll have to see how many episodes FOX decides to order for this final season. I do know these ratings and viewership numbers are a far cry from when Empire first started out. This show was averaging like 14 million or so LIVE viewers in the first season. It was magical. It’s sad to see the drastic decline.

As for any season 6 spoilers, the only thing we’re hearing ,at the moment, is that actor Jussie Smollett aka Jamal Lyon is officially not returning.

According to the folks over at TV Line , the CEO of FOX Entertainment Charlie Collier confirmed it saying, “As much as anything in cases like this, and they’re all so unique, you try gather all the information.

You try to make a good decision at the time. Series creator Lee Daniels is right. There’s no plans for Jussie to return to Empire.”

Apparently, they had kept Jussie’s contract open after his big scandal earlier in the year, but a definite decision has now been made, which essentially means Jussie is fired from Empire. After season 6, everyone is fired, laid off or whatever you wanna call it. So, he’s only missing one season.

We did find one other small spoiler for season 6. This one comes from Deadline.com. They’re reporting that former Lethal Weapon star Keesha Sharp has landed a recurring role on Empire’s new season 6 as character Dr Paula Wick.

Paula is described as being a smart, insightful woman who offers endless compassion but doesn’t take sh@#t from anyone.” So, look out for Dr. Paula Wick at some point in season 6.

Again, season 6 is officially scheduled to premiere on Tuesday night, September 24, 2019 at approximately 8 pm central standard time on FOX.

Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest Empire report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
