‘Dancing With The Stars’ September 30, 2019 Eliminated No One (Recap)

Hey, “Dancing With The Star” fans. Tonight, September 30, 2019, another results/performance show did indeed air. All the judges: Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba were, of course, on hand to give their constructive criticisms and scores.

They revealed that contestant Ray Lewis and his pro dance partner Cheryl Burke were out of the competition because Ray got injured. Apparently, he tore a lot of tendons in his foot, and the doctor said they could rupture if he kept dancing. He will also need to get surgery on his foot. So, that was a tough break for him.

Tonight’s performances kicked off with Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko. They danced a Tango to the song, “Pretty Woman.”

Afterwards,Len told Lauren, “It was full of attack, drive and purpose, but a little bit stop-and-start at times.” Bruno said, “It was a racy, full-throttle tango, and some of the lines were very good, but your transitions are a little off, and you need to work on your balance.”

Carrie Ann said, “You need to work on your musicality, and you’re leaning on Gleb too much instead of standing on your own. However, I love your confidence.” Carrie Ann gave Lauren a 6 score, Len a 7, Bruno a 7 for a total of 20 points out of a possible 30 points.

Next, Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten performed a Rumba routine. Afterwards, Bruno told Hannah, “Your a wonderful, lyrical dancer with great finish and flourish, but you needed to use the floor more with the rumba to get more hip action.”

Carrie Ann said, “You have exquisite lines, but no hip action. It looked more like a cheerleading dance than a Latin dance.” Len said, “You have beautiful musicality, but you needed more hip action.” Carrie Ann gave Hannah a 7 score, Len a 7, Bruno a 7 for a total of 21 points.

After that, Karamo Brown and Jenna Johnson danced a Jive number. Afterwards, Carrie Ann told Karamo, “It was not the greatest, and there were a lot of mistakes, but your still entertaining. I want to see you continue on the show because of your potential.”

Len said, “I admire that the routine was a complete jive without any messing about, but you went wrong a lot.” Bruno said, “You missed your steps, and that’s tough to cover up in this dance style.” Carrie Ann gave Karamo a 5 score, Len a 5, Bruno a 6 for a total of 16 points.

Ally Brooke and Sasha Farber hit the stage next to rock out a Rumba routine to the song, “Selena.” Afterwards, Len told Ally, “I loved how clearly I could see all of the specific rumba details in this performance.”

Bruno said, “You put all of your heart and soul into that dance. I loved that it was a true, proper, correct rumba.” Carrie Ann said, “I had chills the whole time, and it was all about technique.” Carrie Ann gave Ally an 8 score, Len an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

At this point, they showed a video segment that showed more info on how Ray Lewis injured his foot. He explained that he re-aggravated a tendon injury in his foot from when he played pro football.

He had to drop out to avoid possibly rupturing the tendons. They had former Mirror Ball champion Rashad Jennings do an exhibition dance to fill the extra time that Ray Lewis would have taken up during his performance.

After all of that, James Van Der Beek and Emma Slater hit the dance floor to perform a Rumba routine.

Afterwards, Bruno told James, “The audience is going Gaga for James, and there was nothing shallow about that performance. It’s tougher for a man to dance a rumba because of how you had to complement your partner, and you nailed it!”

Carrie Ann said, “It was stunning, and you grabbed my attention in what is usually a showcase dance for women.” Len said, “You got a little bit wide in your leg action, which hindered your hip action, and it was too passionate for me.” Carrie Ann gave James an 8 score, Len a 7, Bruno an 8 for a total of 23 points.

Kate Flannery and Pasha Pashkov danced a Quickstep number to the song,“9 to 5.” Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “It was precise and synchronized.” Len said, “I loved your sense of character.” Bruno said, “Your performance is a big hit.” Carrie Ann gave Kate an 8 score, Len an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

Next, Lamar Odom and Peta Murgatroyd danced a Cha, Cha, Cha routine. Afterwards, Len told Lamar, “You’re a lot of fun, but then the wheels fell off a bit when you had to do some basic steps midway through.”

Bruno said, “It started quite well, but you couldn’t quite manage towards the end.” Carrie Ann said, “You channeled the love you got from the audience. You were right on beat, but then you made one wrong move, and it kept going wrong.” Carrie Ann gave Lamar a 4 score, Len a 4, Bruno a 4 for a total 12 points.

Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Val Chmerkovskiy arrived next to rock out a Tango routine. Afterwards, Bruno told Sailor, I appreciate that you have taken our suggestions and criticisms to heart. It was a great, feel-good tango.”

Carrie Ann said, “I thought this performance was a transformation for Sailor and a huge leap forward.” Len said, “I loved the snap, crackle and pop of the routine, and it was fantastic.” Carrie Ann gave Sailor a 7 score, Len an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 23 points.

Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson danced a Rumba routine. Afterwards, Carrie Ann told Kel, “It was really solid dancing, but I could see how hard you were working and you were tight.” Len said, “You needed more shaping with your hand, but it was a good, solid performance.”

Bruno said you completed the sailing without sinking, but the intensity took away from the fluidity.” Carrie Ann gave Kel a 7 score, Len a 6, Bruno a 7 for a total of 20 points.

The last performance of the night featured Sean Spicer and Lindsay Arnold. They danced a Cha, Cha, Cha. Afterwards, Bruno told Sean, ” You are a genius for turning Saturday Night Fever into a disaster blockbuster.”

Carrie Ann said, “You’re living your best life. Hey, If I experienced no consequences for months of lying to the American public, I’d be pretty chuffed too.” Carrie Ann gave Sean a 5 score, Len a 5, Bruno a 5 for a total of 15 points.

At this point, they revealed the results from last week’s voting. Everyone was safe except for Kel & Witney and Lamar & Peta.

The judges could save one of these couples. However, Len explained that since Ray Lewis had to drop out of the competition this week, everyone was safe! So, no one got eliminated tonight, September 30, 2019.
