‘Survivor’ March 11, 2020 Voted Off Boston Rob Mariano (Recap)
Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, March 11, 2020, another episode for this season titled “Winners At War” did indeed air and another unlucky contestant did get sent packing in a major blindside.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with Nick telling the private cams, “I was so relieved to get Tyson out of here.” Then Nick talked about getting the fire token from Tyson. He said, “This has changed my opinion of Tyson. In another situation, I would like to work with him, and it might happen. I don’t take this lightly.”
Yul had a sad story about ALS disease. He said I’m not just playing for myself, but something bigger. He got very emotional about one of his friends having the disease.
Next, host Jeff Probst showed up to tell everyone it was time to switch tribes! They switched from two big tribes down to three small tribes of five. The Sele and Dakal tribe names remained intact. The new 3rd tribe was named Yara. It featured Rob, Ben, Adam, Sophie and Sarah.
At one point, Adam said he was definitely not happy about switching tribes saying, “It could be catastrophic to my game.”
Jeremy started talking to Kim because she seemed on the outs. Denise and Kim agreed to work together. Tony tried to reel Kim in with him and Sandra so they could take out Jeremy and Denise.
Kim told the private cams, “I’m not so sure about working with Tony and Sandra because I have the least trust with them, but I feel good about Denise and Jeremy.”
Nick said he felt like he won the lottery with his new tribe, which had Parvati on it. Parvati started talking to her old buddy Yul from the Cook Islands season.
At one point, Nick told Parvati about his high school crush on her. So, they had a good laugh about that.
Wendell and Michele used to date. It didn’t end well. So, things were sort of awkward for them. Parvati had a good laugh to the private cams about it. Michele told the private cams, “I will take Wendell out if that’s necessary.”
Sarah said she definitely didn’t want to swap tribes. Sarah and Ben agreed to work together. At one point, Sophie, Sarah, Rob, Ben and Adam all went searching for a hidden immunity idol.
Sophie ended up finding it, but she didn’t tell anyone but Sarah. Sophie had to give the other half of the idol to another player. So, she gave it to Sarah.
Next, host Jeff Probst showed up again with the immunity challenge for this episode. It didn’t feature a rewards element this time though.
During the challenge, the three tribes had to run through a series of obstacles. Then throw sand bags at blocks to knock them over. After that, they had to get the blocks and complete another puzzle for the win. The first two tribes to complete it, won immunity.
The Sele tribe finished it first. Dakal finished it second. So, the Yara tribe of Rob, Adam, Ben, Sophie and Sarah had to figure out who to get rid of.
Ben, Adam and Rob made an agreement not vote each other out, but it was mostly Rob’s idea. Then they agreed to get rid of Sarah. Again, it was mostly Rob’s idea. Heck, it was all Rob’s idea. Their reasoning was that they think Sophie is better for them in challenges.
Rob suggested to Adam and Ben that they implement the buddy system, which had them staying in camp all day and never leaving. They seemed to agree to this in that moment.
However, Adam and Ben got so friggin bored after hours of staying in the camp to appease Rob. So, doubts started to flare up.
Sarah told the private cams, “I really don’t like Rob’s style of play.” She also mentioned she had the steal-a-vote advantage, and she might use it. Sarah and Sophie also talked about possibly using the two halves of the immunity idol Sophie found.
At tribal council, Sarah and Sophie commented on how the guys didn’t talk to them after Rob laid down his command. They went back and forth about that.
The girls brought up some good points about how Rob’s style is limiting any type of real game play. They’re just banding together to bully them out of the game. Rob’s rebuttal to that was, “Hey, it works.” At this point, Rob felt confident the guys would stick to his plan.
Then the votes happened, and here were the results. Sarah got 1 vote, and Rob got a whopping 3 votes. So, with 3 votes, Boston Rob Mariano did indeed get shafted by the guys.
He didn’t have anything to say. He knew he had been burned. Then it was revealed that Rob gave his fire token to Parvati. So, things are looking real good for Parvati. She already got a fire token from Ethan earlier this season. All I can say is, “Go Parvati!”

I really wanted Boston Rob or Amber to win, Boston Rob is Survivor you only have to say his name and people know who he is. I personally don’t care for Sandra and really never understood how she ever won anything. I do hope that Rob comes back into the game but being out so long and rules changing and also being older hurts him.
There are tooooo many puzzles. Think up some new challenges. And open all of these reality shows to NEW players. Getting tired of the “same old same olds”. One shot and that is it !! And why are they moved on to the “next” reality show????? such as Dancing with the Stars and Amazing Race. I’m sure other viewers would like to see new faces, too. And one last ides…. new locations. Maybe cold…or dry climates. Things are getting too predictable.
I totally agree with the first comment. Boston Rob is the only reason I watch. The second about wanting new faces (as long as one is boston Rob!) and cold climates…..ugh NO.
Heartbroken Boston Rob got voted off. My all time favorite player.
