‘NCIS’ Season 17, April 7, 2020 Episode 20 Delayed. Not Airing Tonight

Hey,”NCIS” fans. It’s another one of those bad nights again. We have to inform you that the next, new episode 20 of NCIS’ current season 17 will not be aired tonight by CBS. Yep, for some reason, it’s just not going to happen.

The good news is that this delay will just be for this week. We have official confirmation from CBS that the new episode 20 is scheduled to air next Tuesday night, April 14, 2020 in its usual 7 pm central standard time slot.

So, certainly be sure to mark down that very important date and time on your TV show calendars as soon as you can.

So, what will CBS air instead of the next, new episode 20 of NCIS’ current season 17 tonight? According to the TV guide listings, CBS is airing a repeat episode of NCIS. The repeat episode they’re airing tonight is the 8th episode of this current season 17. It’s titled, “Musical Chairs.”


CBS’ official description for it reads like this, “The NCIS team investigates the murder of a musician in the Navy’s most elite band that performs at diplomatic events around the world.”

If any of you guys have any desire whatsoever in watching this repeat episode, you might still want to go ahead and watch CBS as you normally would. However, if you fall into the group of people who have no interest in watching this repeat episode, you will certainly want to get some new plans together very quickly.

With all that said, we were able to get our hands on some new info for the next, new episode 20 of NCIS’ current season 17. CBS served up an official press release for it. So, we’re going to reveal what it had to say.

Before we do, we have to warn you that it does contain light spoiler teasers. So, if you’re trying to avoid spoilers, we highly suggest that you avoid reading this article any further.

On the other hand, if you’re trying to find all the spoilers you can, we highly suggest you stick around and keep reading this article until the absolute end.

Ok, so now that our spoiler warning has been given to all of you, let’s go over this new episode 20 press release that CBS was kind enough to put out.

For starters, it lets us know that episode 20 is officially labeled/titled, “The Arizona.” It sounds like episode 20 will feature some very interesting scenes.

In the new episode 20, The NCIS crew will be approached by a very strange man named Joe Smith. He will be claiming that he actually served on the U.S.S. Arizona when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Along with this claim, Joe will make a request that he be buried there when he dies.

In light of this very unique situation, the NCIS team will attempt to verify the claims and identity of Joe Smith to make sure he’s not just making up crazy lies and stories.

CBS’ official description for episode 20 reads like this, “The team tries to verify the identity of Joe Smith (Christopher Lloyd), who claims he served on the U.S.S. Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and wants to be buried there upon his death.”

An alternate description reads like this, “THE TEAM TRIES TO VERIFY THE IDENTITY OF A MAN WHO CLAIMS HE WAS ON THE U.S.S. ARIZONA DURING THE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR, AND WANTS TO BE BURIED THERE WHEN HE PASSES.”

Episode 20 features a couple of guest stars. They are: Christopher Lloyd as character (Joseph “Joe” Smith), Oeter Nyrbuj as character (Navy Four-Star Admiral Michael Caplinger), Jessica Tuck as character (Gloria Caplinger), Sebastian Sozzi as character (Kevin Deacon), Dawn Matthews as character (Doctor Alice Jelani), Sofie Calderon as character (Joan), Damian Joseph Quinn as character (Young Joe) and Zachary Cowan as character (Charred Sailor).

The season regulars that will be featured in episode 20 are: Mark Harmon as character (NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs), Sean Murray as character (NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee), Emily Wickersham as character (NCIS Special Agent Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop), Wilmer Valderrama as character (NCIS Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres).

Season regulars continued: Maria Bello as character (NCIS Special Agent Jaqueline “Jack” Sloane), Brian Dietzen as character (Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer), Diona Reasonover as character (Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines), Rocky Carroll as character (NCIS Director Leon Vance) and David McCallum as character (Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard).

Episode 20 was written by Gina Lucita Monreal, and it was directed by James Whitmore, Jr. Again, CBS confirmed that the next, new episode 20 of NCIS’s current season 17 is scheduled to air next Tuesday night, April 14, 2020 at approximately 7 pm central standard time.
