‘Survivor’ April 15, 2020 Voted Off Tyson Apostol For A Second Time (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, April 15, 2020, another new episode of “Survivor season 40: Winners At War” did indeed air, and it featured another super crazy tribal council and blindside that could only happen in an all-winners season.

Tonight’s episode kicked off very, very light. They decided to make the first half of this episode all about the cast reuniting with their loved ones. Host Jeff Probst showed up to greet the remaining merge castmembers first.

Jeff was there to announce each loved one. Kim’s husband Brian was introduced first. He brought Kim’s three kids with him. So, Kim was definitely very emotional when she saw all of them.

Next,Ben’s wife Kelly and his two kids showed up to make Ben shed some tears. He was very happy to see them.

Sophie’s fiance Bobby was introduced next. She gave him a huge, tearful hug of joy. Next, Jeff introduced Sarah’s partner Wyatt and her son. Needless to say, Sarah was very happy to them. She gave her son a hug.

Denise’s husband Brad and her daughter were introduced next. Denise gave them a big hug and said a few words about how much she needs them.

Nick got to reunite with his fiance Giselle. He gave her a bug hug. Tony’s wife Marissa showed up with his two kids. Tony got extremely emotional to see them, and he gave them all a big hug.

Michele’s sister Kim arrived to give her a bug hug. Tyson’s wife Rachel and one of his kids were brought on to greet Tyson. And last, but not least, Jeremy got to reunite with his big family.

After all of that, Jeff announced that there would be no Survivor loved ones challenge this time. “Everyone gets to spend time with their loved ones,” he said.

They got to eat, swim and have an absolute blast with each other. It was nothing but good times and relaxation for the first half of this episode.

Even on “Edge Of Extinction,” the cast offs got to reunite with their loved ones. So,no one was left out of this very joyous segment of Survivor season 40.

Finally, after all of that, they got back to business with the Immunity Challenge. Jeff also said the winner would get 2 fire tokens to go along with the immunity necklace.

In the challenge, they had to get small blocks with letters on it. Then they had to stack the blocks on top of each other ,vertically, on a wobbly table that was balanced by holding a rope at the end of it.

They had to stack the blocks until they spelled the word “immunity.” If their blocks dropped before spelling the “Immunity” word, they had to start all over.

The first one to spell immunity by stacking the blocks on top of each other first without them dropping, won immunity. It was pretty straight up.

Tony ended up pulling out the victory. So, he could not get voted out at this tribal council meeting. Everyone else was up for grabs.

During the intense conversations, Jeremy mentioned to Tony, “I want to split up Sarah and Sophie.” Tony said, “We can’t do that right now.” Sarah told Tony, “I want to get Kim out.” Tony didn’t agree. So, they argued.

Tony eventually told Sarah he would go after Kim. However,Tony told the private cams, “There’s something sneaky about Jeremy I don’t like. He’s got to go.”

Kim told Jeremy and Tyson, “I want to play with guys as hard as I can until the end. I have an idol.” Kim also told Denise she has an idol. Kim also wanted to work with Denise.

Tony told Sarah about Jeremy wanting to get rid of her and Sophie. So, Sarah was on board to get rid of Jeremy.

Sophie suggested to Sarah that she play her steal-a-vote advantage at the tribal council meeting.

Finally, at the tribal council meeting, more whispering started happening just like at the last tribal council. Tony said,”I’m so glad I won immunity this week.” Jeremy said this is our individual seasons on steroids. It’s madness.

Jeremy finally just decided to go ahead and play his advantage that allows him to leave tribal council and not be voted out. However, he couldn’t vote. After Jeremy left, more whispering ensued. Only this time, they split up into separate groups to do it!

Then Sarah decided to play her steal-a vote advantage. She chose to take away Denise’s vote. So, Sarah got to vote twice ,and Denise couldn’t vote.

Finally, they casts their votes. Right after the voting, Kim delivered another twist by playing her immunity idol on Denise! Then Jeff read off the votes, and here’s what happened.

Denise got 2 votes, Sophie got 2 votes and Tyson got 4 votes. So, with a whopping 4 votes, Tyson left gracefully for a second time. He told everyone, “Good luck.”

At one point, Kim said, “I almost did that” in reference to Tyson. I think she meant she almost played her immunity idol on Tyson because she was working with him. Oh well. She didn’t. So, Tyson is gone again, and I totally consider this one a blindside because his name never came up as a target before that tribal council meeting.

Question, how many times can you be voted off

It depends. They only have one more Edge of Extinction challenge so if Tyson were to get back in there is a chance that he could be voted off 3 times. I personally am pulling for Sophie and Michelle. I would love to see Parvati get back in as well!
