Johnny Weir and Britt Stewart kicked off tonight’s performances with a Salsa routine. Afterwards, Derek said, “Jennifer Lopez would be proud, but there were a few misses with your arm connections.

Bruno Tonioli said, “It needed more grounded hip action. So, the style wasn’t quite right, but it was still a great performance.” Carrie Ann said, “It wasn’t your best dance. It started slow for me.”

Carrie Ann gave Johnny & Britt a 7 score, Derek a 8 and Bruno a 8 for a total of 22 points out of a possible 30 points.

Next, Nev Schulman and Jenna Johnson hit the stage to rock out a Jazz number. Afterwards,Bruno said, “It was confusing and amusing, and it also reminded me of Fame. I don’t know what it was, but it worked.”

Carrie Ann said, “It was amazing even though the music and the style were a war of two worlds.” Derek said, “It was clean even though the music didn’t really match the dance style.”

Carrie Ann gave Nev and Jenna a 9 score, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 8 for a total of 26 points.

Next up, was Monica Aldama and Val Chmerkovskiy. They danced a Rumba routine. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “Wow, wow, wow! It was refined and sensual.” Derek said, “I liked the softness of the performance, and your impressive balance.”

Bruno said, “It’s a classy rumba that featured a balance of sensuality and romance. Plus, your lines, shapes and control.”

Carrie Ann gave Monica & Val a 9 score, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten hit the dance floor ,next, to deliver a Cha, Cha, Cha dance. Skai messed up at one point.

Bruno said, “You improved on your Latin movements during the good parts despite the major mistakes.” Carrie Ann said, “You came back stronger than ever after that mistake.”

Carrie Ann gave Skai and Alan a 6 score, Derek a 6 and Bruno a 6 for a total 18 points.

Next, Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd delivered a Cha, Cha, Cha dance. Afterwards, Bruno said, “You have the right feel for the dance with good timing, but the cha cha comes from the ball of the foot, and you’re on your heels too much.”

Carrie Ann said, “I enjoy watching you dance because you have an ease despite making many mistakes.” Derek said, “I would give you a 10 for joy, but from a technical standpoint, it had timing issues and problematic heel leads.”

Carrie Ann gave Vernon and Peta a 7 score, Derek a 7 and Bruno a 7 for a total of 21 points.

Nelly and Daniella Karagach arrived ,next, to serve up a Viennese Waltz. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “I’m without words because there was something beautiful happening. There was beauty and storytelling.”

Derek said, “Your softness and awareness of your body was masculine. However, you needed more rise and fall, and you need to work on your shoulders, but I still dug it.” Bruno said, “You were turning into a swan right in front of me with your great arm movements.”

Carrie Ann gave Nelly and Daniella a 8 score, Derek a 8 and Bruno a 8 for a total of 24 points.

Next, judge Derek Hough hit the stage with Hayley Erbert to do a special performance of the Paso Doble.

After that, they got back to the regular performances with Jeannie Mai and Brandon Armstrong. They did a Rumba routine.

Afterwards, Derek said, “You need your arms to look softer without so much tension, but it was otherwise a good job.” Bruno said, “You’re like a smoldering siren, and you have an uncanny ability to transform into the character each dance needs.”

Carrie Ann said, “It was stunning, and you dance at the edge, pushing yourself to your limits with every dance.”

Carrie Ann gave Jeannie and Brandon a 8 score, Derek a 8 and Bruno a 9 for a total of 25 points.

Next up, was AJ McLean and Cheryl Burke. They performed a Samba number. Afterwards, Bruno said, “You always deliver. You’re always on time. You did a good samba with good bounce.”

Carrie Ann said, “It was a breakthrough for you. You need to pop your chest open a little more, but you danced bigger than usual, which was welcomed.” Derek said, “It was fun to watch, and AJ made it look easy.”

Carrie Ann gave AJ a 9 score, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko served up a Contemporary dance when they hit the stage next.

Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “I could feel how you put her heart and soul in the routine, but you still need to point your toes.”

Derek said, “I love how you added your emotional intention into the dance, but you need to point your toes.” Bruno said, “It was emotionally engaging and truthful, but there were technical touches that you were missing.”

Carrie Ann gave Chrishell and Gleb a 8 score, Derek a 8 and Bruno a 8 for a total of 24 points.

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev hit the stage ,next, to do a Samba routine. Afterwards, Derek said, “It was fantastic with proper samba hip action, but you need to attack it a bit more.”

Bruno said, “You didn’t miss a placement ,and you managed to make it look elegant.” Carrie Ann said, “It was well executed, but I wasn’t that impressed because I wanted to see more attack.”

Carrie Ann gave Kaitlyn and Artem a 9 score, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Next, came Justina Machado and Sasha Farber to cap off tonight’s performances with their Viennese Waltz routine. Afterwards, Bruno said, ” You’re still on the crest of a wave. You’re smooth as silk and light as a feather.”

Carrie Ann said, “It was elegant and refined with more emotion than I usually see, but I’m debating with whether a foot left the floor.” Derek said, “You’re reliable and consistent with great arms and perfect sync with Sasha.”

Carrie Ann gave Justina and Sasha a 9 score, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.
