The Amazing Race December 2, 2020 Eliminated Eswar & Aparna Dhinakaran (Recap)
Hey, “The Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, December 2,2020, another new episode of The Amazing Race’s new season 32 did indeed air, and another unlucky team did go home when it was all said and done.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the teams learning they had to go to Siem Reap,Cambodia to ge this race started. A couple of the teams revealed that they definitely wanted to u-turn DeAngelo & Gary.
When the teams got to Siem Reap,Cambodia, they had to travel by taxi to a market and pick up a roaming Gnome from Travelocity to get their first clue for this leg of the race.
After they got the Gnome, the teams had to help a tuk,tuk driver assemble their tuk,tuk so they could drive them to Chong Kneas pier. Once they got to the pier, they had to travel by boat to Buddhist temple and deliver a basket of donations to a monk to get their next clue.
Once they completed that task, they ran into their detours: “Fish” or “Farm.” In the “Fish” detour, the teams had to pull in over 3,000 feet of net and gather at least 30 pounds of fish while on a boat to get their next clue.
In the “Farm” detour, the teams had to mix soil, plant local produce and replicate a floating garden to get their next clue.
After the teams knocked out the detours, they were presented with an opportunity to double u-turn someone if they were quick enough to get to it before any of the other teams.
Gary & DeAngelo ended up getting to it first to u-turn Eswar & Aparna. Then, Riley & Maddison decided to u-turn DeAngelo & Gary even though it was too late just to burn the board so no other teams could get u-turned. Aparna and Eswar were super ticked off about it too.
The u-turn means Eswar and Aparna had to go back and do the other detour before they could continue on in the race. They were so bummed about it as they should be.
Next, the teams had to complete a Road Block challenge called, “Who Thinks They Can Fit The Mold?”
During it, one of team members had to make a mold of a ornate tile. Then they had to use that tile as part of a slide puzzle. Then solve the slide puzzle to get their next clue.
DeAngelo ran into major problems trying to make the ornate tile mold because he was not paying attention to all the steps to make it. It caused him and Gary to get stuck at this Road Block long enough for Eswar & Aparna to catch up to them and talk smack for getting u-turned.
Aparna was really hot about it. She gave DeAngelo a really hard time telling him, “If you used your brain, you could’ve u-turned a team that was faster than you.” DeAngelo just shook it off saying he doesn’t care. He did what he had to do.
DeAngelo finally figured out the missing step just in time to pull back ahead of Eswar & Aparna.
After this Road Block, the teams were instructed to hit up the Angkor Thom, which was the pit stop for this leg of the race. Riley & Maddison took first place, and won a trip for two to Norway 5 for nights from Travelocity.
Will & James came in second place. Hung & Chee took the 3rd place spot. DeAngelo & Gary grabbed that very important 4th place spot to keep them from getting eliminated.
That means poor Eswar & Aparna did indeed show up last due to getting u-turned by DeAngelo & Gary, and host Phil Keoghan did confirm that they were eliminated from the race.
DeAngelo told Phil, “I u-turned Eswar and Aparna. Aparna was spicy about it too. It’s a race. I did it to help us out and it worked. I don’t care if she understands it or not. In your face!”
