The Bachelor February 22, 2021 Serena P Quit (Recap)

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, February 22, 2021, another new episode of The Bachelor 2021 edition with headliner Matt James did indeed air, and we saw another lady make her exit before it was all said and done.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with Matt talking about meeting his final four ladies’ families and so on and so forth.

Then, host Chris Harrison greeted the final women: Serena P, Rachael, Michelle and Bri. He told them Serena’s mom, dad and sister Talia would be arriving. He told Rachael that her mom, dad and sister Trinity were coming. He told Michelle that her mom and dad will arrive. He told Bri that her best friend, mother and baby sister were showing up.

After all of that, Michelle and Matt went on their 1 on 1 date. She greeted him with a big hug. They went bike riding. After that, Michelle took Matt to meet all of her students via a virtual, video conferencing session.

They asked Matt a bunch of questions. They asked him if he kissed Michelle yet? If he will propose to her? Will they have babies and so on and so forth. It was a very fun and humorous segment.

After they talked to the kids, Michelle and Matt talked about what Michelle wants in a relationship and about meeting her parents. Matt said he was nervous, and Michelle told Matt to, “Just show them what you’ve shown me.” Michelle told the private cams, “It will be really hard for me to move forward with our relationship if my parents don’t like him.”

Next, Matt finally met Michelle’s family. Michelle talked with her father. He told her that Matt seems like a nice guy, but he was, of course, concerned about him seeing other women. Michelle told her father she’s ready to marry Matt.

Matt talked with Michelle’s dad. Matt told told him, “Michelle’s goals are in line with mine. I haven’t told her I’m in love with her yet.”

Michelle talked with her mother Lavonne. Lavonne told Michelle, ” I just want you to be happy. If Matt makes you happy, we will love him, and he’ll be apart of our family.” So, everything seemed to go really well.

Afterwards, Matt played a game of basketball with Michelle, and they looked like they had a blast. At the end, Michelle told Matt, “I’m falling in love with you.” He didn’t say it back, but Michelle still seemed ok with that.

Next, Matt and Rachael met up for their 1 on 1 date. They greeted each other with a big hug. Rachael blindfolded Matt and drove him to a plane. Then, she told him they’re going sky diving.

At one point, things looked quite scary as they took a pretty hard fall while parachuting to the ground. Matt asked Rachel if she was ok. He said that crazy moment made him realize how much he really cares for Rachel, thinking she might be really hurt.

Matt told her, “I didn’t realize how strongly I felt about you until something like that happened.” Rachael told the private cams, “That just made me fall more in love with him. I can’t imagine going through life with out Matt.” They kissed to close out the day portion of their date.

Next, Matt finally met Rachael’s family. At one point, Rachael talked with her mother. She told her how great she thinks Matt is. Rachael told her how Matt comforted her during the sky diving incident. Rachael said of Matt, “If he proposed to me tomorrow, I’d be ready to accept.”

Matt talked with Rachael’s dad. He expressed concerns about getting engaged so fast. Matt said “I understand, but I’ve connected with Rachael on a level that I haven’t experienced with anyone else.” Rachael’s dad wanted to know how he is connecting with Rachel so much when he’s dating other people.

Matt told him, “When I’m with Rachael ,she’s all I’m thinking about.” Rachael’s father wasn’t totally convinced with Matt’s explanation saying, “Why Matt is telling Rachel one thing, he could be telling the other women the same thing.”

Rachael talked with her dad, he kept reiterating to Rachael how Matt is dating 3 other ladies, and he could be telling them the same thing. Rachael said,”I don’t think he is, and I’m really ready to pursue this.” Rachael’s Dad said, “Well, we’ll support you no matter what.”

Matt and Rachael talked afterwards. Matt told Rachael that he told her dad “I’m falling in love with you.” However, he didn’t ask her dad for his blessing yet. Rachel told the private cams, “I wish he had asked for my father’s blessing, but overall, it was a great time.” They kissed goodbye.

Matt met up with Bri for their 1 on 1 date next. They greeted each other with a big hug. She took him to have a picnic like they did on their first 1 on 1 date. She told him, “I’m excited for you to meet my family.” She expressed concerns to Matt about her family not being conventional. Matt said, “I’m not worried about that. My family is anything but conventional.” Rachel, of course, liked that answer, and they kissed.

Matt met Bri’s family, which was her mother and her best friend Bri. They greeted Matt with a big hug. Then, they talked about how Matt and Bri’s relationship has progressed.

Matt talked with Bri’s mother Lauren. He told her, “The level I connect on with her is different with the other women I’ve met.” Lauren asked Matt, “Are you in love with Bri.” He replied with, “I’m falling for her.” Lauren said, “Do you see Bri in your life?” Matt said, “Absolutely.” Lauren told Matt, “Bri is a realist and is afraid of getting her hopes up.”

Bri talked with Lauren. Bri told her, “I feel like I’m falling in love with Matt, and I’m so scared.” Lauren said, “You have to make a commitment to yourself to be honest and vulnerable, and that’s a hard thing to do.” Bri told the private cams, “It’s gonna be hard to be honest and vulnerable, but I need to do it or else Matt will never know how I feel about him.”

After all the family stuff, Matt and Bri talked again. Bri told Matt, “I’m falling in love with you, and I want more time with you.” Matt said, “Thanks for sharing that with me,” and they kissed. Bri told the private cams, “I feel good that Matt won’t have any doubts about where my head is.”

Next, Matt met up with Serena P to go on their 1 on 1 date. She greeted him with a giant hug by jumping into his arms. She took him to play a quiz game of some sort. During it, Serena asked Matt a lot of questions about Canadian culture and what not. They also tried some Canadian food. After that, they went to play ice hockey. She totally whooped him. Then she gave him a big hug and kiss.

Matt finally met Serena’s family. Matt talked with Serena’s Mother Rasna. He told her what he liked about her. Rasna said, “We’re just worried about her getting hurt, and this process is so fast.” Rasna told the private cams, “Matt seems like a good guy, but I don’t know if Serena is ready to get engaged this quickly.”

Serena and her sister Talia talked. Talia said, “Matt is everything I would want for you, but there’s something missing. You’re not smitten, but I think it’s in your head.”

Serena talked with her father. She told him she’s freaking out about a possible engagement. Serena’s father said, “That’s a big commitment. It’s understandable.”

Serena talked with her mom Rasna. Serena told her, “I enjoy my time with Matt, but there’s something that’s causing me a deep doubt, and I just don’t know what it is.” Rasna said, “I think your last relationship really messed with your head. You got hurt badly.” Serena cried in that moment, and she talked about how much she got hurt from that relationship.

Matt and Serena talked again to close out their date. Serena expressed to Matt that she’s sort of freaking out because there’s a time limit. Matt told her not to worry. She said she’ll try not to, and they kissed. Serena kept telling the private cams, “I’m so confused.”

Matt talked with host Chris Harrison. He told Chris, “I’m having problems with Serena P, but I really want it to work out with her.”

Matt told the private cams, “Something’s really off with Serena right now. I can tell she has doubts. So, I’ve got to talk to her. I can really see a life with Serena. I’ve seen it since the first night I met her, but I don’t know if she sees it.

Matt went to talk to Serena again. He expressed to her that he really thinks he could share a life with her. She finally told Matt how much she’s been struggling, and she ultimately just doesn’t think he’s her person.

Matt said, “I kinda knew it, but it just stings. It sucks to hear that because I just want what’s best for you. If it’s not me, that sucks.”

Serena said, “I don’t know what it is, and I’m just torn up over it.” Matt said, “You don’t have to say anymore.” Then she walked him out ,and they hugged goodbye. Matt told the private cams, “It sucks because I didn’t see our journey ending that way.”

Finally, at the rose ceremony, Matt told the other ladies, “Serena P couldn’t see herself as my wife. So, she’s not here.”

Then Matt gave Michelle, Rachael and Bri a rose since he did have three of them to give out. Brit told the private cams, “There’s something a little disheartening about getting the last rose.” Tonight’s episode ended with Matt celebrating with his final three ladies.

Next week is the special “Women Tell All” episode. So, get ready for all the drama it will provide.

The next, new episode of The Bachelor 2021 edition with Matt James is scheduled to air next Monday night, March 1, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC.
