SWAT Season 5, December 17, 2021 Episode 9 Delayed. Not Airing For A While

Hey, “S.W.A.T.” fans. Unfortunately, we have some very bad news for you guys tonight. We’re jumping on here to tell you that CBS will not be airing the next, new episode 9 of SWAT’s current season 5 tonight, December 17, 2021. Apparently, the show is on a bit of an extended delay.

The CBS folks have informed us that they plan to air the new episode 9 on Sunday night,January 2, 2022 in the 9 pm central standard time slot. That means SWAT has gotten a new night and new time slot. Please make note of that very important date and time.

We went ahead and took a look at what CBS will air instead of the next, new episode 9 of SWAT’s current season 5 tonight. According to the TV guide listings, CBS is going to air a new episode of, “The Greatest #AtHome Videos.” It’s titled, “‘Tis the Season to Share Videos.” This is episode 5 of its season 2.

CBS’ official description for it reads like this, “Actress Daniela Ruah shares her favorite heartwarming videos, featuring military personnel reuniting with their families; Paula Abdul rocks a special holiday TikTok.”


Next Friday night,December 24, 2021, CBS will air a Christmas special called, “A Holly Dolly Christmas.” CBS’ official description for it reads like this, “Singer-songwriter Dolly Parton presents personal Christmas stories and performs hymns and light-hearted holiday classics.”

If any of you guys are interested in that alternate line of programming, you might still want to tune in to CBS ,tonight, and next Friday night. If you only want to watch the new episode 9 of SWAT’s current season 5, you will definitely want to make some other plans until the January 2, 2022 date arrives.

Spoiler Warning: For those of you who are interested, we did collect some new, spoilery information for the next, new episode 9 of SWAT’s current season 5 via CBS’ official episode 9 press release. So, here we go. We’re going to drop those on you right now.

To start, CBS let us know that this new episode 9 is officially labeled/titled, “Survive.” It sounds like episode 9 will feature some very scandalous, intense, dramatic, action-filled, suspenseful and interesting scenes.

CBS’ official description for episode 9 tells us, “When Deacon enlists Chris’ help on an off-duty private security detail, they struggle to survive when they’re attacked by a drug cartel looking to kidnap their wealthy VIP client on the new day and time of the CBS Original series S.W.A.T.”

An alternate description reads like this, “A DRUG CARTEL ATTACKS DEACON AND CHRIS WHILE THEY’RE WORKING AN OFF-DUTY PRIVATE SECURITY DETAIL.”

Episode 9 will feature a couple of guest stars. They are: Benito Martinez as character (Miguel), Tiago Roberts as character (Fontes), Philip Anthony-Rodriguez as character (Rafa) and Neiko Neal as character (Officer Balfour).

The season regulars that will be featured in episode 9 are: Shemar Moore as character (Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson), Alex Russell as character (Jim Street), Jay Harrington as character (David “Deacon” Kay), Lina Esco as character (Christina “Chris” Alonso), Kenny Johnson as character (Dominique Luca), David Lim as character (Victor Tan) and Patrick St. Esprit as character (Commander Robert Hicks).

Episode 9 was written by Michael Gemballa, and it was directed by Billy Gierhart.

CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 9 of SWAT’s current season 5 is scheduled to finally make its debut on Sunday night, January 2, 2022 at approximately 9 pm central standard time. It will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
