The Bachelor February 21, 2022 Eliminated Genevieve, Eliza, Mara & Teddi (Recap)

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, February 21, 2022, another new episode of The Bachelor 2022 edition with headliner Clayton Echard did indeed air, and another batch of women did get eliminated during it.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with the ladies taking about how they don’t want Sarah to come back from her 1 on 1 date with Clayton. Apparently, they didn’t like the way Sarah has been acting lately.

Eventually, Sarah returned and told the women, “Something was said to tear me and Clayton’s relationship down, but it only made it stronger.” Then, Sarah asked the girls to tell her who told Clayton she wasn’t ready for marriage.

Mara did eventually fess up to telling Clayton that Sarah wasn’t ready. “I was just looking out for Clayton,” Mara said. Sarah told Mara, “I also have Clayton’s best interest. So, there was no need, and we both agreed that whoever told him that seems like a person who is afraid of going home, and it was a last-ditch effort.”

Next, Clayton showed up at the cocktail party and made a toast. Then he talked with Serene. During their chat, Clayton gave Serene some firefly jars as a special gift because of the story she told him about her cousin that past away. Apparently, her favorite memory of her cousin involved them being surrounded by a bunch of fireflies when they were younger.

Clayton talked with Susie. They had a good conversation and kissed. Clayton told the private cams, “I’m all in as well with Susie.”

Clayton talked with Teddi. Clayton talked with Rachel. We only got a split-second glimpse of those conversations. So,there wasn’t much to tell.

At one point, Mara pulled Sarah aside for a 1 on 1 conversation/confrontation. Mara told the private cams, “Sarah’s comment about me making a last ditch effort rubbed me the wrong way.” Mara confronted her about it saying, “You’re getting a little sloppy. It’s only a matter of time before Clayton notices it. You’re starting to seem overly confident. Some of your comments are a little manipulative, and it brings the other girls down.”

The other ladies started getting nervous about Mara and Sarah’s confrontation because of how it might make Clayton feel.

Next, we got footage of the first rose ceremony for this episode. During it, Clayton gave: Susie, Serene, Gabby and Genevieve a rose. Unfortunately, that meant poor Mara and Eliza did not get a rose. So, they had to make their exits.

After all of that, Clayton and the women went to Vienna, Austria. From there, Susie and Clayton went on a 1 on 1 date. During it, Clayton took Susie to go on a shopping spree. Clayton told the private cams, “With Susie, every conversation we have, I do get a little closer to falling in love.”

Clayton told Susie, “Seeing you like this makes me happy,” and they kissed and hugged. Susie told the private cams, “I feel giddy when I’m around Clayton.”

During the second half of their date, Clayton and Susie had dinner and talked. Susie told Clayton, “Today, was so cool because I don’t even treat myself like that. It felt foreign. I hope I can introduce you to my family.”

Clayton told Susie, “I’m proud of who you are, and you deserve things like this. Today, was more than what I could’ve asked for. Will you accept this rose?” She said, “Of course,” and they kissed. Clayton told the private cams, “I’m elated to meet Susie’s family.”

To end the date, they were treated to a private concert by musician Chris De Burgh. During it, they danced and kissed. Clayton told the private cams, “It just feels natural with Susie. All my cares just fade away when I’m with her.” Susie told the private cams, “Clayton is everything I could ask for. I’m falling in love.”

Next, Clayton took: Sarah, Teddi, Genevieve, Rachel and Gabby out on a group date. During it, they went to see a psychoanalyst. They each separately sat down with Clayton to talk with the psychoanalyst.

Genevieve seem to have a real problem sharing how she feels inside. At one point, she said, “I don’t even think I know what’s going on inside of me.” The psychoanalyst asked her,”Then, how can you expect to move forward?”

Clayton told the private cams, “If Genevieve can’t tear these walls down, we can’t move forward.” Eventually, Clayton took Genevieve to talk privately. Clayton told Genevieve, “It’s really hard for me to see myself meeting your family if I can’t see inside your walls you have built up.” Genevieve agreed that it was totally a problem that she has and accepted that she would have to leave.

So, Clayton had to send her home. He told her, “Thank you for being a part of this journey with me,” and he walked her out. Genevieve told the private cams, “I have to work on letting my walls down. I think any girl would be lucky to be with Clayton. It just wasn’t meant to be for me.”

Clayton told the other women that he sent Genevieve home. They were shocked. The psychoanalyst told Clayton that one of the women wasn’t being honest and was performative.

During the afterparty session, Clayton told the private cams, “I have to figure out who was performative tonight.” Clayton told the women, “It was scary to hear that someone is putting on a act at this stage.”

Then, Clayton talked 1 on 1 with Rachel. He told her, “I know that the performative person isn’t you.” Then, Rachel started talking about Sarah and some of the questionable things she’s been doing. She mentioned that Sarah told the other women that Clayton cried on their 1 on 1 date. Clayton said, “There’s no truth to that.” Then, Rachel explained that Sarah was making the other women feel like her relationship with Clayton is so strong that they shouldn’t even try anymore.

Clayton told the private cams, “I’m shocked that Sarah has been saying things that haven’t happened.” Gabby and Teddi talked with Clayton separately and echoed the same thing that Rachel said about Sarah. They said that some of the other women were starting to feel like they should leave because of the manipulation that Sarah’s been doing.

Then, Clayton pulled Sarah aside to confront her about what the other women said about her. Sarah denied saying the things the women claimed she said. At one point, Sarah started crying. Clayton said, “I think you’re trying to fake cry, and I think you were trying to manipulate these women into leaving. I don’t believe you anymore. I think we’re done. I can’t move forward with you. I would like to walk you out.”

On the way out, Sarah tried to make one last pitch to Clayton about how she really does want things to work with him, but Clayton wasn’t having it anymore. He told her, “I just don’t believe you, and if I can’t trust you, this can’t work. I’m sorry.”

After that, Clayton told the women, “Given everything that’s happened, I just can’t give this group date rose out ,tonight, because I just want to take the time to make sure I’m making the right decision.”

Next, we got footage of Clayton and Serene’s 1 on 1 date. They talked to start off the date. Serene was concerned about how Clayton was feeling after dumping Sarah. So, they talked about that. Serene asked him, “Are you ok?” He said he felt bad that his trust was misplaced. He told Serene, “I’m appreciative to see that you really care about how I’m feeling.”

Next, they went to get some snacks, and they appeared to have a really good time. During the second half of their date, they talked some more. Serene talked about her dating history. She said she doesn’t date a lot. She talked about her past relationship and how they just grew apart.

Clayton said his past relationship was similar. At one point, Serene didn’t hold back and told Clayton, “I am falling in love with you.” Clayton said, “I can’t tell you how happy it makes me feel to hear you say that.” Serene said, “You make it easy,” and they kissed. Then, Clayton gave her a rose, and they kissed again. From there, they looked at some artwork and kissed yet again.

To cap things off, we were shown another rose ceremony. During it, Clayton gave Rachel and Gabby a rose to join Serene and Susie who received roses earlier in this episode. That meant poor Teddi did not get a rose. So, she had to join Mara, Eliza and Sarah who were given their walking papers earlier in this episode.

Clayton did take the time to walk Teddi out. He told her, “It was so nice to get to know you, and you will always have a special place in my heart.” Teddi told the private cams, “I don’t understand. I thought it could be him, but it’s not.” Awww, bless her heart.

The next, new episode of The Bachelor 2022 edition with headliner Clayton Echard is scheduled to air next Monday night, February 28, 2022 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC.
