Survivor March 16, 2022 Voted Off Marya Sherron (Recap)
Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, March 16, 2022, another new episode of Survivor season 42 did indeed air, and another contestant did get voted off the island in the end.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the Ika tribe talking about having to get rid of Zach at the last tribal council meeting. They talked about getting rid of Tori next. Meanwhile, Tori told the private cams, “A part of me was sad that Zach went home.”
Hai was seen having a hard time because of his vegan status, but he eventually decided he had to eat meat to stay alive out there.
They showed a brief segment highlighting the fact that Maryanne is always so excited and smiling. She was seen getting excited even about bugs that were crawling around. Lindsay told the private cams, “Maryanne’s excitement was kind of cute at first, but I think it might start rubbing people the wrong way.”
Drea got together with Lindsay and Swati to talk about starting a girls alliance. Drea told them about her extra vote advantage, and they agreed to do the girl alliance, but Swati told the private cams, “Drea has too much power.” So, Swati campaigned to Lindsay to get Drea out next, and Lindsay agreed.
Over at the Vati tribe, Mike already went looking for a hidden immunity idol, and he found it! However, it was one of those annoying, 3-way shared idols. The other 2 parts of the idol must also be found before they have any power. Then, everyone who finds the other parts has to say a secret phrase in front of the others. Once all 3 phrases have been said, the idols have power. This advantage also caused Mike to lose his tribal council vote until the merge.
Mike told Jenny he found the idol because he feels like she his number one ally. He also told Daniel because he wanted to try and get him as a new ally. Daniel told the private cams, “I’m gonna help Mike figure out how to play the idol.” Then, we got footage of Daniel telling Chanelle that Mike found the idol. As their conversation continued, they both agreed that their options are to either vote Mike out or get him to never play it.
Next, we got immunity challenge footage. In this one, a member from each tribe was a caller. The caller instructed the blindfolded members to find their puzzle pieces. The callers also had to direct the blindfolded members in completing a puzzle for the win. Daniel sat out of this challenge.
The first and second place tribes also won a reward. The first place tribe won a lot of fishing gear. The second place tribe won a smaller amount of fishing gear. The last place tribe obviously won nothing and had to give up their flint to boot.
The Vati tribe ended up taking first place. The Ika tribe took 2nd place and got their flint back from losing the last immunity challenge. Meanwhile, the losing Taku tribe lost their flint, and they had to go try and figure out who they were getting rid of at the next tribal council meeting.
Jonathan and Omar talked about getting rid of either Marryanne or Marya. Jonathan told Marryanne that her name was brought up as a target, and she got upset. Then, she went to look for a hidden immunity idol. The others noticed that she did and talked about how she gets flustered under pressure. Marryanne did not find the hidden immunity idol. So, she was definitely in trouble going into the tribal council meeting.
At the tribal council meeting, the Taku tribe talked game for a while. Nothing really special or specific came up. Then, they casts their votes. During the voting, it was revealed to Marryanne in the form of a note that she did win an advantage of having an extra vote since she risked her vote on the mountain in the last episode.
Before host Jeff Probst read the votes, Marya played her shot in the dark die, which gave her 1 out 6 chance of immunity. However, the card she drew was a “Not Safe” card. So, she was still in danger.
Next, it was revealed that Marya got 3 votes, and Maryanne received no votes. So, by a unanimous vote of 3-0, poor Marya was indeed voted off the island in tonight’s March 16, 2022 episode. How do you guys feel about Marya Sherron getting voted off? Let us know in the comments section.
