Survivor April 27, 2022 Voted Off Rocksroy Bailey & Tori Meehan (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, April 27, 2022, another new episode of Survivor’s current season 42 did indeed hit the air, and two unlucky contestants got sent packing to the jury at the end.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with Romeo talking about the last tribal council meeting, which sent Chanelle Howell to the jury. Romeo told the private cams, “I was lied to because 3 votes went to me. All of these people are fake, but have to keep putting up an act for them for the sake of my game.”

Hai told the private cams, “I’m kind of upset about the hinky vote that I got at the last tribal council.” Romeo told the private cams that he was the one who voted for Hai, but he told Hai that he didn’t. Hai didn’t believe him. Romeo told the private cams, “I wanted Hai to freak out. I want to create a little chaos and play this game.”

Jonathan, Mike and Rocksroy decided to align together. Then, Rocksroy strayed off and tried to campaign to Hai and Omar to join the boys’ alliance. Hai and Omar told the private cams that they would never work with Rocksroy, especially Hai. Hai told the private cams, “Rocksroy is working his way up the list of people I want to vote out.” Omar told the private cams, “I don’t want to work with Rocksroy because I don’t feel like I get him to do what I want him to do.”

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with the new immunity challenge. Everyone got split up into two teams of five for this one. A person from each team had a chance to win immunity. So, there were two winners this time. However, that also meant that there would be two tribal council meetings for each team and two people getting voted off.

Team 1 consisted of: Hai, Omar, Romeo, Mike and Rocksroy. Team 2 consisted of Drea, Jonathan,Lindsay, Marryanne and Tori. In the immunity challenge, everyone had to balance themselves on a triangular platform in rough water by standing on a narrow perch. The last person standing from each team, won immunity. The overall winner won immunity plus a food reward.

It came down to Hai and Jonathan at the end, and Jonathan won. So,Jonathan won the overall victory to claim immunity plus the food reward, and Hai won immunity for being the last one standing from his team of five.

Mike told the private cams that Romeo is going home. Romeo even told the private cams, “I’m going home. There’s nothing I can do.” However, Omar told the private cams he wants to get Rocksroy out. So, Omar campaigned to Hai to get Rocksroy out. Hai said, “I want to do it, but I need to get Mike’s blessing, first, or else I will lose his trust.” Mike told Hai, “We can’t take Rocksroy out, right now, because we’ll lose the others trust.”

On the other team, Jonathan told Marryanne he wants to get Drea out to flush out her immunity idol. Marryanne said she was onboard. However, Marryanne told the private cams, “Jonathan is getting on my nerves. He treats me like a little girl.” Marryanne pitched the Drea plan to Tori, and Tori she was down for it because she knows Drea’s been trying to make a move to get her out.

Jonathan pitched the Drea plan to Lindsay. Lindsay told Jonathan, “If Drea uses her idol, we’ll lose Marryanne and her vote.” So, they started arguing about it. Lindsay told the private cams, “Jonathan is not listening to me, and he thinks he knows everything that’s going on.” So, Lindsay ran off an campaigned to Marryanne to get Tori out instead.

At the Tribal council meeting for Hai, Omar, Romeo, Mike and Rocksroy, they just did some regular game talk. Nothing too wild stood out before they cast their votes. However, when the votes were revealed, there was a twist because Rocksroy ended up getting 3 votes, and Romeo only got 1 vote. So, with 3 votes, Rocksroy got voted off in a major blindside. Apparently, Hai got Mike to flip on Rocksroy after all. Rocksroy said, “Good luck, guys” on the way out. So, he left gracefully.

Next, the second tribal council meeting with Drea, Jonathan, Lindsay, Marryanne and Tori took place, and it got really dramatic. They were all really surprised to see that Rocksroy got voted off. Since Rocksroy and Chantelle got voted off back-to-back, Drea started saying she was upset to see black people getting voted off ,one right after the other, all of a sudden and is playing her idol.

Then, Marryanne jumped on the Drea bandwagon and said ,out loud, “I’m not voting for Drea to go. I can’t in good conscience do it.” Jonathan started arguing with Drea and Marryanne about trying to make this a racial thing. He said, it’s not a racial thing. Drea said she’s not calling Jonathan racist, but it seems like a subconscious thing that all the black people are getting voted off at the same time.

Then, Marryanne said she’s playing her idol too. So, that left only Lindsay and Tori as an option to get voted out. They all told Tori they wanted to vote her out. So, Tori decided to play her shot in the dark die for a 1 out of 6 chance of getting safety. Unfortunately for her, she drew a “not safe” scroll. So, Tori got voted off to become the second casualty of this very dramatic episode. Tori told them, “Have fun, guys” on the way out. So, she left gracefully as well.

I was saddened to see this tribal council devolve into a race relations debate. Not what Survivor is all about.

I have been an avid follower of Survivor since it began. I Watched every episode and recorded the episodes in DVR for future episodes incase I had to miss the airing. They allowed the race card to be played. Then sent home the very person that was likely to go to the end because they couldn’t vote any other way. The idols could have been played by both players with out brining in the race card and accusing the other players of being racist. I turned off the episode, erased every episode and cancelled every episode. Who do you think will win? Not because they deserve it but because noone else wants to be called a racist on national TV. Not to mention Survivor broadcast team would proably be sued for allowing racist players on the show. I will never waste energy on the show again. Good BY Survivor.

Tired of it always being about race when things don’t go your way. Maryanne wanted to get rid of Rocks Roy earlier because she was angry about the way he spoke to her like a child. Drew was a target because she had an idol. And nobody cried race when all the white people were voted off before Rocksroy. I think its racist to make it about race when it clearly isn’t. Its just how the game is played and Drew needs to get over herself using the game as a platform to look all poor me on national tv. Just because you don’t like the outcome doesn’t mean its about race. There will only be one person standing at the end black or whitr

    I felt the same way.

So…..let me get this straight….Drea would have been ok with one black woman and one gay latino man on the jury if the vote had gone as she expected? Someone please explain the logic…..is it only racism if they are black? Maybe it’s not racism at all but normal game play on a reality show……imagine that!!

I was SO frustrated with the race card being played on Survivor. Drea was a target because she had an idol and advantages. Roxroy was a target because he was big, strong, and lacking in social skills. Chanelle was a target because nobody trusted her. It’s so frustrating that people cannot see beyond their race.
