The Amazing Race November 9, 2022 Eliminated Quinton & Mattie (Recap)
Hey, “The Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, November 9, 2022, another new episode of The Amazing Race’s current season 34 did indeed hit the air, and we saw another unlucky team get sent packing for finishing last.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the teams learning they had to drive to Toulouse, France to get their first clue. Poor Quinton & Mattie got lost for a really long time with this one. So, that caused them to fall into last place at the very start.
When the teams got their first clue, they were given a new Road Block challenge titled, “Who’s Ready to Take One for the Team?” In this Road Block challenge, one person from each team had to complete a Rugby drill with the women’s championship team to get their next clue. The drill included such tasks as running with the ball, passing it and kicking it through a field goal post.
After the teams successfully completed the Road Block challenge, they were directed to drive to Couvent des Jacobins to look for a musician holding their next clue. When they got there, they ran into their detours for this leg of the race. They got to pick either the “Say Six” or “Lay Bricks” detour.
In the “Say Six” detour, the teams had to memorize three portions of a French poem performed by three poets scattered around the basilica and correctly recite it to get their next clue.
In the “Lay Bricks” detour, the teams had to correctly lay some bricks in the right place by copying a detailed pattern to get their next clue.
After the teams successfully completed the detour of their choosing, they were directed to hit up Pays d’Oc in Canal de Brienne, which was the pit stop for this leg of the race.
Derek & Claire showed up in first place and won a 5 days and nights trip for two to Bangkok. Luis & Michelle came in 2nd place. Emily & Molly showed up in the 3rd spot. Marcus & Michael claimed 4th place. Aubrey & David took the very important 5th position, and poor Quinton & Mattie did indeed show up last. So, they were eliminated. For their departing words, they said, “This was a bonding moment and something we can tell our grandchildren about some day.”
