American Idol April 10, 2023 Top 24 Finalist Part 2 Results Revealed (Recap)
Hey, “American Idol” fans. Tonight, April 10, 2023, another new episode of American Idol’s current season 21 did hit the air, and we finally found out who the top 24 finalists are with a bonus twist of 2 extra people to round it out to a top 26.
Tonight’s episode was part 2 of the Showstoppers episodes where the contestants hit the stage to perform with a LIVE band for the first time this season. The celebrity judges: Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan were all on hand, once again, to decide who moved on the top 26.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with things picking up where they left off in last night’s episode with Paige Anne and Megan Danielle performing a sing off for the judges. They both sang, “Go Easy On Me”song by Adele in the sing off. Afterwards, the judges decided to eliminate poor Paige Anne, and they sent Megan through to the top 24.
Marybeth Byrd sang, “Flat on the Floor” song by Carrie Underwood. Afterwards, the judges decided to send her through to the top 24.
Oliver Steele sang, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” song by Tears for Fears. Afterwards, Katy told him, “You are your own hero. Welcome to the Top 24.” Oliver made it to the top 24.
Emma Busse sang, “Chasing Pavements” song by Adele. Afterwards, the judges were so impressed that they didn’t even joke around. They told her straight up she’s in the top 24 with no hesitation.
Preston Duffee sang, “Crazy Town” song by Jason Aldean. Afterwards, Luke told him, “You have good energy and stage presence, but you’re not vocally ready.” Preston got eliminated.
Elijah McCormick sang, “Believe for It” song by CeCe Winans. Afterwards, the judges were so impressed they sent him right to the top 24 without hesitation.
Elise Kristine sang, “Feeling Good” song and Olivia Soli sang, “All By Myself” song. Afterwards, the judges decided to send both of them through to the top 24.
Dawson Wayne sang, “Flying” song by Cody Fry. Afterwards, Katy told him , “This is your mission now,” and they put him through to the top 24.
Cam Amen sang, “Impossible Dream” song by Man of la Mancha. Afterwards, the judges decided to eliminate him. So, Cam’s out. Kya Monee sang, “The Climb” song by Miley Cyrus. Afterwards, Kya got cut for the second year. Poor Kya.
Caroline Kole sang, “Iris” song by Goo Goo Dolls. Afterwards, the judges eliminated her as well. Mikenley Brown sang, “The Joke” song by Brandi Carlisle. Afterwards, she was also told that she unfortunately is eliminated.
Mariah Faith sang, “I Ain’t Living Long Like This” song by Waylon Jennings. Afterwards, the judges put her through the top 24. Hannah Nicolaisen sang, “I Don’t Want to Be” song by Gavin DeGraw. Afterwards, the judges sent her through to the top 24.
Nailya Serenity sang, “Superstar” song by Luther Vandross. Afterwards, Katy said, “Your performance was divine and incredible.” The judges sent her through to the top 24
Trey Lewis sang, “Waiting for the Thunder” song by Blackberry Smoke. Afterwards, Luke said, “You have potential, but you need to work on your vocals. You were very very close.” Trey got eliminated.
Colin Stough sang, “Cold” song by Chris Stapleton, Iam Tongi sang, “Sound of Silence” song by Simon & Garfunkel and Matt Wilson sang “Forever” by Chris Brown. Afterwards, the judges decided to send all three of them through to the next round. So, instead of there being a top 24, it will be a top 26 that you guys will see perform in the next round at the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
So, your top 26 singers are: PJAE, Malik Heard, Haven Madison, Kaeyra, Lucy Love, Michael Williams, Nutsa, Olivia Soli, Tyson Venegas, Warren Peay, Wé Ani, Zachariah Smith, Megan Danielle, Marybeth Byrd, Oliver Steele, Emma Busse, Elijah McCormick, Elise Kristine, Dawson Wayne, Mariah Faith, Hannah Nicolaisian, Nailya Serenity, Colin Stough, Iam Tongi and Matt Wilson. Actually, we’ve been told that the 26th singer hasn’t been revealed yet, but there is 26 contestants advancing to the next round.
