American Idol Season 21 May 21, 2023 Episode Is The Finale. Season 22 Is Happening
Hey, “American Idol” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed tonight’s finale episode of American Idol’s current season 21. We have some great news for you guys. The folks over at ABC did officially renew American Idol for a brand new season 22. That’s right, guys. You’re going to get more of this singing competition next year.
According to the folks over at Deadline.com , ABC delivered their renewal announcement back on May 16, 2023. They say it’s currently not clear if the judges: Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan will return for season 22 because they don’t usually sign new contracts until sometime during the summer months. We’re pretty sure Ryan Seacrest will return as the host again since he’s literally been there since the beginning.
We’re also assuming that American Idol’s new season 22 will debut in early 2024 sometime like it usually does. However, if this writers strike continues on for a long enough time, I wouldn’t be surprised American Idol maybe gets bumped up to fill in for all the scripted TV shows that will get delayed by the writers strike. We’ll see how all that pans out.
