Hey, “So Help Me Todd” fans. We hope you guys totally dug and savored every minute of episode 21 tonight, because it was definitely the final episode of So Help Me Todd’s current, premiere season 1, and with this writers strike going on, we have no idea when you guys will see the debut of the new season 2.

However, that is the good news we have to share with you. CBS did officially renew So Help Me Todd for a brand new season 2, and they did it quite early too. According to the folks over at, CBS renewed So Help Me Todd way back in February 2023. So, they were very pleased with the way it was performing. is also reporting that the showrunners for So Help Me Todd Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro are quitting. Apparently, they had only signed up to work on the first season. They will be replaced by Elizabeth Klaviter.

Amy Reisenbach who is the president of CBS Entertainment had some very positive words for So Help Me Todd during the renewal announcement stating, “So Help Me Todd has charmed viewers with the incomparable chemistry between Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin.

With the series’ unique blend of captivating legal drama, laugh-out-loud humor and intriguing family dysfunction, it’s no wonder the audience continues to grow. I am delighted that these two inimitable characters and their entertaining banter will extend into a second season.”

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, So Help Me Todd season 1 averaged 4.624 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.36 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 20, which aired last Thursday night, May 11, 2023, managed to draw in 4.534 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.42 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was episode 13 with 5.301 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 6 with 3.929 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was episode 13 with a 0.44 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 7 with a 0.29 ratings score.

If you tack on the numbers from the streaming platforms,the average viewership numbers jump to 7.4 million viewers. It has become CBS’s number 1 Thursday show. So, that’s definitely great news.
