The Amazing Race March 13, 2024 Eliminated Maya & Rohan (Recap)
Hey, “The Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, March 13, 2024, the very first premiere episode 1 for The Amazing Race’s new season 36 did indeed hit the air, and we saw the first team to get ousted at the end of it.
Tonight’s new, premiere episode 1 kicked off with the usual introductions of the new teams. Then, they learned that they had to race to some parked cars located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to get their first clue. Once they got to their cars, they had to drive themselves downtown to get their next clue.
Once they got to the clue box, they got hit with their detours for this leg. They had to complete either the “Pick Em Up” detour or the “Pin Em Down” detour. In the “Pick Em Up” detour, they had to transport rocking chair horses through a cobblestone street to get their next clue. In the “Pin ‘Em Down” detour, the teams had to complete a memory challenge of matching luchador masks to get their next clue.
Maya & Rohan got lost really bad while trying to find the detours, but they did eventually find them after they fell behind all the other teams.
After successfully completing the detours, the teams had to drive themselves to Lienzo Charro Miguel Prieto ibarria to get their next clue. When they got there, they were hit with a Roadblock challenge. During it, they had to hop through the loops without touching the ropes to get their next clue.
After successfully completing the Roadblock challenge, the teams were directed to hit up the pit stop for this leg of the race, which was the Plaza de los Arcos del Malecon.
Rod and Leticia arrived at the pit stop in first place, but host Phil Keoghan told them they’re still racing. So, they were quickly given another clue. Ricky & Cesar took 2nd place. Derek & Shelisa took 3rd place. Juan and Shane came in 4th place. Michelle and Sean finished in 5th place.
Yvonne and Melissa came in 6th place. Angie and Denny arrived in the 7th spot. Anthony and Bailey took 8th place. Sunny and Bizzy came in 9th. Kishori & Karishma took the 10th spot. Chris and Mary took the 11th spot. Amber and Vinny came in 12th place. That means poor Maya and Rohan showed up last due to them getting lost for too long early on.
Maya and Rohan told the private cams, “Just to get through one leg of the race is like a dream come true. We love this show from the bottom of hour hearts.”
