American Idol April 29, 2024 Eliminated Kaibrienne. Top 7 Revealed (Recap)

Hey, “American Idol” fans. Tonight, April 29, 2024, another new performances/results episode of American Idol’s current season 22 did hit the air, and we found out who made it into the top 7 at the very end.

The contestants sang songs that were picked for them by the celebrity judges: Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. Kicking off tonight’s performances was Will Moseley with the song, “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash. Afterwards, Luke said, “You’re more loose and free with your performances.”

Kaibrienne sang, “Traitor” by Olivio Rodrigo. Afterwards, Katy said, “That was amazing. You look like such a superstar.” Luke said, “It was like a real moment.” Lionel said, “You were speaking from the heart. You killed it.”


Emmy Russell and Jack Blocker sang, “Hello” by Lionel Richie. Afterwards, Lionel said, “The most terrifying thing is someone singing your song. What if they don’t do it justice? The two of you together make such a brilliant combination.”

McKenna Faith Breinholt sang, “Everywhere I Go” by Lissie. Afterwards, Katy said, “Your voice moves people emotionally.” Luke said, “That was amazing. Your ability to bring the room into you by the nuances of your voice is really mature stuff.” Lionel said, “When you open your mouth, you could here a pin drop.”

Jack Blocker sang, “Always On My Mind” by Willie Nelson. Afterwards, Katy said, “You’ve been fully realized.” Luke said, “You’re winning in so many ways. That was a real spiritual. It came out of your heart and soul. A magical moment.” Lionel said, “You’re giving us pieces of you that you haven’t given us before.” Triston Harper and Will Moseley sang, “What Makes You Country” by Luke Bryan.

Abi Carter sang, “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence. Afterwards, Luke said, “I created a monster! Way to take it to another level. You knew it was game on.” Lionel said, “You were so professional. So on it. You took it to the next level.” Katy said, “You just kicked down all four walls of the box I thought you were in. That was the best song of the night.”

Julia Gagnon sang, “Over the Rainbow” by Judy Garland. Afterwards, Luke said, “There is no song you can’t sing! You incorporated different styles and made it your own.” Lionel said, “You killed that song. You had great range and control.” Katy said, “I think Luke chose the right song for you. That was a cozy performance.”

Abi Carter, Julia Gagnon, McKenna Breinholt and Kaibrienne sang, “Wide Awake” by Katy Perry. Afterwards, Katy said, “I’m so happy to see you all come together and collaborate. I love the girl power. You sounded so good.”

Triston Harper sang, “Sand in My Boots” by Morgan Wallen. Afterwards, Lionel said, “You have grown up right in front of us. You are a world class storyteller.” Katy said, “I believe in you.” Luke said, “Great job.” Emmy Russell sang, “Coal Miners Daughter” by Loretta Lynn to wrap up the performances.

Next, host Ryan Seacrest revealed that everyone was safe and through to the final 6 except for McKenna Breinholt and Kaibrienne. Then, the judges got to save one of them, and they chose to save McKenna. So, poor Kaibrienne was eliminated.

That means your top 7 contestants are: Julia Gagnon, Emmy Russell, Will Moseley, Jack Blocker, Triston Harper, Abi Carter and McKenna Breinholt. How do you guys feel about that? Let us know in the comments section.
