ABC put out an official press release for tonight’s repeat episode. So, we will certainly reference it right now. Tonight’s repeat episode is officially labeled/titled, “Night Terror.” It originally aired way, way back on May 20, 2022.

In tonight’s repeat episode, the 20/20 team took a deep look at a story about a couple named Dennis and Norma Woodruff. They were murdered right inside their own house. The investigators who worked this case quickly suspected that they were killed by their son named Brandon Woodruff. He was the last one to see them alive, and he was living a secret double life.

They also found a weapon that belonged to Brandon with one of the victim’s DNA on it. Brandon was eventually convicted of these murders by a jury, but he still claims he’s innocent. ABC News anchor John Quinones handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. This episode featured interviews with: interviews with Bonnie Woodruff, Brandon’s grandmother; Allison Clayton, deputy director of the Innocence Project of Texas; members of the jury and witnesses in the trial.

ABC’s official description for tonight’s repeat episode of 20/20 reads like this, “When a friend discovered Dennis and Norma Woodruff murdered in their home located in the Texas Bible Belt, authorities quickly suspected the couple’s son, Brandon Woodruff, who was the last person to see them alive. Authorities said Brandon lived a double life, and they recovered a weapon with one of the victim’s DNA that they say belonged to Brandon and could have been used during the crime.

A jury soon convicted him, and he received life behind bars, but his family’s opinions remain divided on whether or not he committed the murders. As the Innocence Project of Texas helps Brandon try to clear his name, “20/20” reports on the key question posed by his supporters: Did he actually kill his parents? “20/20″ features Brandon’s first TV interview since his 2009 conviction with ABC News anchor John Quiñones, in which he claims his innocence and discusses how he feels anti-gay bias influenced the investigation.”

ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 is arriving with another repeat episode tonight, August 9, 2024 in the 8 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
