Survivor December 18 Season 47 Winner Revealed In The Finale Episode (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, December 18, 2024, the finale episode of Survivor’s current season 47 did indeed hit the air, and we finally found out who won this entire thing at the end of it.

Tonight’s new, final episode kicked off with talk about the last tribal council meeting, which sent Genevieve packing and off to the jury. Teeny told the private cams, “I’m ecstatic to be in the final four. Genevieve is gone. So, I’m riding a high right now.”

Sam told the private cams, “I’m feeling fulfilled and motivated at the same time.” Rachel to the private cams, “I’m happy and in a celebratory mood. I’m not going to stop competing now. This final immunity challenge is the most important one of them all.”

After all of that, host Jeff Probst showed up with the final immunity challenge. During it, they had to make it through a couple of obstacles. Collect letter tiles. Solve a combination lock. Then, solve a bat puzzle for the win. When it was all played and done, Rachel won it to guarantee her spot in the final three.

Afterwards, Sam told the private cams, “I’m pretty sure I’ll be fighting for may life in the fire-making challenge.”

Rachel straight up told Teeny and Sam that they are making fire. Rachel told the private cams, “Sue has been a loyal ally for me. It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t take her to the finals.”

Teeny told the private cams, “I’m tired of Sam’s mind games” after Sam told her he doesn’t know how to make fire and has never done it before. Rachel helped Teeny practice making fire, and she seemed to get the hang of it quite well.

Later, it was revealed that Sam really doesn’t know how to make fire that well. He felt bad because he felt like he has no one to help him learn it. Sam told the private cams, “I’m worried about this fire making challenge.

I’m afraid of looking like an idiot.’ However, Sam ended up, reading a note from his dad that motivated him to keep practicing, and he finally built a fire. So, he had some momentum going into the challenge.

At the tribal council meeting, Rachel said she’s taking Sue to the final for her loyalty, and Teeny and Sam will make fire tonight. Teeny admitted that she projected her own insecurities onto Sam during this season, and that he’s really done nothing wrong to her. She looks forward to competing against him in the fire-making challenge.

During the fire-making challenge, Teeny got off to a very quick start, but Sam eventually caught up to her and made a major comeback to break his rope before her. Teeny’s fire kept catching wind. So, it could never stay on the rope long enough to break it before Sam. It was an amazing challenge.

After the challenge, Teeny said, “I’m happy knowing I did my best. There’s nothing more I could do.” Teeny gave everyone a hug on the way out.

Sam, Rachel and Sue got a final breakfast feast and talked about how they played this season. At the last tribal council meeting, Sam, Rachel and Sue answered questions from the jury.

During the jury question segment, Rachel said,”I’m someone who had the ability to adapt and became a threat. My biggest mistake was not calculating how much game was going on around me. I decided to course-correct.”

She admitted to spying on one of the conversations to help save her game. “I played the final six immunity idol very effectively. I’m really proud of it. I couldn’t convince people to do my bidding. So, I had to win comps and switch my game.

I learned to own my game and be proud of how I played it. I had the most dominant game. I was stealthy. I had good social connections. I won four immunity challenges and tied a record. I went from being a super under dog to being a big dog.”

Sam said, “My game was scrappy. I never gave up on myself to get to the end. My biggest mistake was not tying up loose ends. I used Genevieve’s fake idol information to flip the game and keep Teeny. I elevated Rachel’s threat level to put a target on her and take the target off myself.

I was always on the right side of the vote. I channeled the joy I know was on the other end of all of this. I continued to surprise myself and do some things I didn’t expect to do out here. My game was the most well-rounded, resilient and creative. I took control of the game without racing my threat level.”

Sue said, “I had a truthful, honest and loyal game. My biggest mistake was believing Andy’s lies. At 59 years old, I was a comp beast in my own right. I was loyal to the people I wanted to go to the end with.”

After all of that, the jury cast their votes for the winner of this season. Then, host Jeff Probst revealed that Sam got one vote, Sue got zero votes and Rachel received 7 votes. So, with the 7 votes, Rachel won this entire season and the grand prize of $1 million dollars! Rachel said, “I was shocked. I really didn’t know where those jury votes were going to go.”
