The Amazing Race January 26, 2022 Eliminated No One (Recap)
Hey, “The Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, January 26, 2022, another new episode for The Amazing Race’s current season 33 did indeed air.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the teams learning they had to go to the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland to start off the first leg of this race. Once they got there, one of the members from each team had to perform a 722 feet bungee jump with a Travelocity roaming gnome doll attached to their waste to get their next clue.
They noted that this is the highest bungee jump in Europe. So, it was a pretty big deal. All the teams seem to make it through that challenge with relative ease. A few people got frightened at first, but went ahead and took the plunge.
After retrieving their clues from the bungee jump challenge, the teams were directed to go to the city of Lugano, Switzerland and make their way to Piazza Carlo Battaglini. Arun and Natalie totally got lost trying to find this one, and it caused them to lose some serious time. They were definitely in last place.
When the teams got to Piazza Carlo Battaglini, they were presented with their detours for this leg of the race. They were able to chose to do either the “Bartender Race” or “Sausage Encase” detour.
In the “Bartender Race” detour, the teams had to deliver 12 bottles of wine and 12 bags of chestnuts to a bartender at a cocktail party to get their next clue. The caveat was that they had to travel up a super long stairway to deliver these items with just their hands. So, they had to make multiple trips up those long steps, and you best believe they got super tired.
In the “Sausage Encase” detour, the teams had to divide sausage into four portions by squeezing out the sausage and putting them into coils for sale.
Once the teams successfully completed the detours they chose, they were directed to search their Travelocity, roaming gnome doll for a photo, which featured a picture of the Parco Ciana building. They had to figure out that the building was the Parco Ciana and then go there to make it to the pit stop for this leg of the race.
Ryan & Dusty made it their first, and won a trip for two from Travelocity to the island of Dominica. Lala & LuLu came in 2nd place. Kim & Penn took 3rd place. Raquel & Cayla claimed the 4th spot. Akbar & Sheridan arrived in 5th place. So, Arun & Natalia did definitely finish last.
However, it was their lucky day because host, Phil Keoghan told them this was a non-elimination leg. So, Arun & Natalie are still in it, but they will be the last ones to start the next leg in the next episode. So, they will have a lot of time they’ll have to make up in order to catch up to everyone else.
The next, new episode of The Amazing Race season 33 is scheduled to air next Wednesday night, February 2, 2022 at approximately 8 pm central standard time on CBS.
