The Bachelor February 20, 2023 Eliminated Kylee And Mercedes (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, February 20, 2023, another new episode of The Bachelor 2023 edition with headliner Zach Shallcross did hit the air, and some more women met their elimination fate by the end of it.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with Zach and his remaining ladies heading over to London, England to continue their journey to find love. Once everybody got settled in, Gabi learned that she got a 1 on 1 date card with Zach, and so off they went to go on their date.
After it was revealed that Gabi got the 1 on 1 date card, Greer was feeling very upset that it wasn’t her, and she told the private cams that she’s afraid she might not ever get the chance to show Zach what she’s really about.
During the first half of Zach and Gabi’s date, Zach took Gabi to a perfurme shop of some sort, and they ended up making their own fragrance. They named it Zabi by merging their names Zach and Gabi together. So, that was cute. Zach told the private cams that he was loving how his date is going with Gabi. “She embraces the moment,” he said. Gabi reciprocated the same thoughts to the private cams.
After the perfume outing, Zach took Gabi to try on some fancy dresses at a mansion or something. Afterwards, they talked and kissed.
Before the second half of their date, Gabi went back to the house and told the other women how great her date went with Zach. Greer took it pretty hard because she thought that particular 1 on 1 date was just right for her personality. Eventually, she walked off and cried. Aly went to console her. Greer told the private cams, “I haven’t gotten any confirmation from Zach for a really long time.”
During the second half of Gabi and Zach’s date they talked over dinner and drinks. Gabi told Zach, “You made me look and feel so pretty during our date. Thank you.” Zach said, “I see you for you.” Gabi said, “I thank you for that. My previous relationship made me lose myself, and it wasn’t positive. You make me feel so safe. All the little moments with the hugs and stuff really mean a lot.” Zach said, “Oh, absolutely,” and they kissed.
He gave her a rose, and they kissed again. Then, they got a musical performance from English reggae and pop band UB40. They danced an kiss to their music. Gabi told the private cams, “I can’t help but fall in love with Zach.”
Next, it was revealed that Brooklyn, Kat, Aly, Kaity, Ariel, Kylee, Jess, Mercedes and Greer were selected for the group date outing. Then, Mercedes started crying about not getting the 1 on 1 date. She told the private cams, “I just don’t feel seen.” After all of that drama, the women got a note from Zach, telling them he’s feeling sick and can’t go on the group date. Instead, the girls just went to explore London without Zach. Meanwhile, Zach told the private cams, “I hope this sickness passes, and I’ll be ready for tonight.
At the afterpary, the women received another note from Zach, telling them he can’t make it to the afterparty either because he’s still not feeling well. Zach told the private cams, “I hope I can get enough rest to at least go on the 1 on 1 date with Charity tomorrow. I hate that I’m letting the girls down.”
Next, we saw footage of host Jesse Palmer telling the women that Zach tested positive for Covid, and he feels absolutely crushed. Greer told the private cams, “I just feel for Zach right now.” It was revealed earlier that Charity was selected for the second 1 on 1 date with Zach. So, she was seen telling the private cams, “Obviously, the main concern is Zach’s health, but I’m disappointed because I know we could’ve moved forward in our relationship.”
Kaity decided to visit Zach and talk with him through the door. She asked how he was doing and brought him a gift basket. He was very appreciative. She told him that she was nervous about their momentum falling flat. Zach understood saying, “I know how important this is. I have so much confidence in us. I’m really excited that you are here. I do see something with you.”
Kaity said, “That feels so good to hear. It means so much to me. I’m not going anywhere.” Zach said,”Please don’t. You can sit outside my door all night. I’m going to give you the biggest hug when I get out of here.”
Zach told the private cams, “It’s frustrating that I can’t spend time with the women. I have to figure something out.” Next, we got footage of host Jesse Palmer telling the women that Zach wants to do a virtual cocktail party over Zoom. Greer said she’s really grateful she at least gets this opportunity to talk with Zach before the rose ceremony.
During the Zoom chats, Zach talked with Charity. She told him,”You don’t have to apologize. Your health is the most important thing, and we’re glad to see you’re doing ok. He also sent her a gift for missing their 1 on 1 date, and he told her, “We will get another chance for the 1 on 1 date.” Charity told private cams that she felt really good about what Zach said during their talk.
Zach talked with Katherine. She said, “We’re just all grateful we get to do this virtual date with you.” Then, they did a screen kissing session. Zach talked with Kylee. Zach told the private cams, “I had a good conversation with Kylee. She put a smile on my face.” Zach talked with Aly. They had fun with an orange. Zach talked with Jess, and he had nice things to say to her.
Zach talked with Greer. She said, “I feel for you. Are you feeling ok?” Zach said he’s feeling a lot better. Then, Greer tried to tell him that she knows how it feels to have Covid at an important time by telling him that she caught it when she was trying to reach a sales goal for her job.
Zach responded to that by saying that this journey is a little more important than reaching a sales goal. Greer quickly responded by saying, “I absolutely know that. I was trying to kind of put myself in your shoes right now.” Zach said, “No, I know you had no bad intent by saying that. I just wanted to put it out there that this is more important to me than a sales goal.”
Greer started feeling upset with herself at this point. She told the private cams that she felt really bad Zach misunderstood what she was trying to say. She started crying, and Charity and Kaity consoled her. Greer told the private cams, “I have a feeling I’m going home tonight.”
Finally at the rose ceremony, Zach gave roses to: Kaity, Charity, Aly, Katherine, Brooklyn, Jess, Ariel and Greer. Obviously, Greer was elated since she thought she totally screwed up. Unfortunately though, poor Kylee and Mercedes did not get a rose. So, they were eliminated and had to say their goodbyes. And that was tonight’s show, guys.
The next, new episode of the Bachelor 2023 edition is scheduled to hit the air next Monday night, February 27, 2023 at approximately 7 pm central standard time.
