Survivor May 3, 2023 Voted Off Frannie Marin (Recap)
Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, May 3, 2023, another new episode of Survivor season 44 did hit the air, and another unlucky contestant got their walking papers at the end of it. Tonight’s episode kicked off with Frannie talking to the private cams about the last tribal council meeting, which sent Kane Fritzler packing. She said, “I was out of the loop for voting out Kane. I feel like I have no one on my side.”
Lauren told the private cams that she also felt left out of the loop because she was also on the wrong side of the votes at the last tribal council meeting. Carson lied to Jamie, telling her that Kane ratted out that she had an idol. However, it was really Carson who ratted her out. Jamie definitely bought it, and she was pretty upset. She told the private cams, “I need to find a new idol.”
After all of that, host Jeff Probst showed up with a new Reward Challenge. During it, they had to spin on an apparatus to get a buoy across a line. Then, make it through an obstacle course and collect 2 balls. Land the 2 balls on a narrow platform without them falling off. The first one to land 2 balls, won. Frannie won it.
Frannie’s prize was spending a night at the sanctuary with tacos, cold beer, margaritas and apple enchiladas. She also got a letter from home. Frannie got to choose 3 other people to join her. She chose: Carolyn, Heidi and Lauren.
Carson told the private cams, “Frannie could be the one going home next.” Carson, Yam Yam, Jamie and Danny all talked about what a huge threat Frannie is ,now, with all her competition wins.
Frannie told the private cams, “I wanna build a relationship with Carolyn.” At the Sanctuary meal, Frannie, Carolyn, Lauren and Heidi got very emotional when reading their letters from home. They also brought up Danny’s name as a possible target to vote out.
Jamie told Danny,Yam Yam and Carson that she gave her idol to Kane to protect it because they thought someone had the “Knowledge Is Power” advantage which could steal her idol. She went on to say that her idol left with Kane when he got voted off. Danny and Carson told the private cams that they didn’t believe Jamie’s story, and that she’s a possible target with Frannie because of it.
Jamie also told the women: Frannie, Carolyn, Heidi and Lauren about her idol leaving with Kane. They told the private cams that they didn’t believe it either and called her a great liar.
Next, host Jeff Probst showed up again with the new immunity challenge. During it, their arms and legs were tied together, and they had to crawl through a sand obstacle course, dragging a buoy with their mouths. Then, untie the ropes and maneuver the buoy through an obstacle to free up some puzzle pieces and complete a puzzle for the win. Carson ended up winning it to claim immunity at the next tribal council meeting.
Danny told the private cams, “Frannie’s going home. It’s our opportunity to strike. Let’s strike.” Frannie campaigned to Carolyn and Carson for Danny or Jamie to go. Carolyn and Carson seemed to agree with those two names in that moment. However, Danny campaigned to Lauren to get out Frannie. Lauren told the private cams that it might be a good idea to get out Frannie because she has been winning a lot. Carson told Yam Yam he was concerned with Carolyn forming a bond with Frannie. So, they were leaning towards getting Frannie out.
Heidi told Carolyn that Frannie was a target because Danny has been campaigning to get her out. Carolyn got upset and told Frannie about it. Carolyn told the private cams, “I’m not voting out Frannie.” So, Carolyn and Frannie got together to campaign to Lauren, Jamie, Carson and Yam Yam to get Heidi out. Carson told the private cams, “I do want Heidi out. She is a big threat.”
Finally, at the tribal council meeting, they just did some regular game talk. At one point, Jamie tried to pitch, once again, that she doesn’t have an idol anymore. It went out with Kane. After all the votes were casts, Heidi received 2 votes. Danny got 1 vote and Frannie ended up getting a whopping 4 votes.
So, with the 4 votes, Frannie did get voted off like Danny wanted. Frannie left calmly with a smile on her face. She told the private cams, “I put my social game to the test, and I failed. I beasted challenges. So, I do feel more powerful. What more could I ask for? How do you guys feel about Frannie Marin getting voted off of Survivor season 44 in tonight’s episode?
