The Challenge USA August 10, 2023 Eliminated No One (Recap)
Hey, “The Challenge” fans. Tonight, August 10, 2023, the very first, premiere episode 1 of The Challenge USA season 2 did indeed hit the CBS airwaves tonight. It kicked off with some introduction footage for the new season 2 cast. Shortly after that, host TJ Lavin showed up to reveal that this season will be played in teams. CJ drew 3 names out of a ball machine, and those three people got to pick the teams. Those three names were: Josh, Cassidy and Desi.
Also, it was revealed that 6 veterans from MTV’s version of The Challenge showed up to compete. Those 6 people were: Wes, Johnny Bananas, Tori, Amanda, Cory and Jonna.
After that, Josh picked: Jonna, Paulie, Michelle, Dusty, Chanelle, Bananas and Tiffany to be on his Red team. Cassidy picked: Cory, Tori, Faysal, Alyssa L., Sebastian, Alyssa S. and Chris to be on her Blue team. Desi picked: Wes, Michaela, Monte, Ameerah, Tyler, Amanda and Luis to be on her Green team.
After the teams were picked, everyone mingled for a bit. Ameerah told the private cams, “I hope all the Big Brother people can stick together. We have the numbers to do something in this game.”
Next, we saw the first challenge of this season. It is titled, “Storm The Castle.” In this challenge, the teams had to race to carry statues to certain checkpoints. They also had to memorize symbols that corresponded with puzzles. They had to ultimately complete the puzzles to move on. The team to get all their statues to the final checkpoint, won.
During this challenge, the teams carried the statues to a checkpoint. Then, they eventually put them in a wagon after solving a puzzle and raced to another checkpoint. They did this until they reached their final destination. The Blue team was able to pull it off first for the win and immunity from elimination in this episode. They also got to nominate a woman and a man from either the green or red team to go up for elimination.
There was also a twist thrown in that allowed a 3rd, secret vote for elimination to be placed by the red and green teams. Josh was seen saying, “The Red and Blue teams should work together. I have a lot of friends on the Blue team.”
Tori told the private cams, “The goal for me is to get people from Big Brother and Survivor to target each other.” The Blue team settled on nominating Luis and Ameerah for eviction from the green team. Alyssa was not happy about it.
This episode capped off with host TJ Lavin bringing out Ameerah and Luis as the elimination nominees. Then, he said if the 3rd, secret vote is a woman, Ameerah would have to compete against that woman. TJ started the process of drawing a name from a ball hopper machine before it cut out. The results of that secret vote will be revealed in part 2 of this episode, which is set to air this Sunday night, August 13, 2023.
