New Survivor Season 48 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It. Premiere Date Revealed
Hey, “Survivor” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed tonight’s episode 14, especially since it was indeed the finale episode of this current season 47 of Survivor. That means that CBS isn’t serving up another new episode for quite some time.
However, we can fortunately confirm with you, right now, that CBS did, of course, renew Survivor for a brand new season 48. That’s right, guys. Survivor will be back in action with another whole new set of episodes in the not-too-distant future. In fact, we do have the exact premiere date for it.
According to multiple sources, you guys can expect to see the new season 48 finally make its premiere debut on Wednesday night, February 26, 2025. CBS actually announced the renewal of season 48 at the same time they announced the renewal for season 47 back in May 2024.
According to some new information we obtained from the folks over at Parade.com, CBS will, once again, continue to air 90-minute episodes of Survivor during season 48. Apparently, CBS has adopted the 90-minute episode format as a permanent thing now. It’s believed that the new season 48 will wrap up in May 2025.
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Survivor season 47 averaged 4.443 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.66 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 13, which aired last Wednesday night, December 11, 2024, managed to draw in 4.888 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.68 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 13 with 4.888 million LIVE viewers. The Least-viewed episode was episode 5 with 4.017 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.73 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 5 with a 0.56 ratings score. So, those were definitely the very solid numbers we expected to see from Survivor.
