‘Inkheart’ (2009) Movie Review
Nine years ago, Mortimer “Mo” Silvertongue Folchart (Brendan Fraser) read a story called “Inkheart” to his daughter, Meggie Folchart (Eliza Bennett) along with his wife,Resa (Sienna Guillory) but not knowing of his secret ability at the time brought the storybook characters out of the book by reading it out loud. One problem was that some of the characters he brought out were evil. The second problem was that when he brings characters out of the book one person from the real world goes into the book. Unfortunately, that one person was his wife.So for the past nine years he’s been searching for another copy of the rare “Inkheart” book, and trying to figure out how to read her out of the book safely without sending someone else from this world into the book.
Now, in present day time has run out for Mortimer as one of the characters from the book named, Dustfinger (Paul Bettany) wants desperately to be put back in the book so he can go home. He gives away Mortimer’s location to one of the evil characters named Capricorn (Andy Serkis) who has settled into this world, and wants Mortimer to read things out of books for him. Mortimer and his daughter are eventually captured by Capricorn’s evil army, and is forced to read more things out of the book for him. Capricorn breaks his promise to help send Dustfinger back into the Inkheart book by burning one of the last copies. In retaliation, Dustfinger helps Mortimer and his daughter escape from Capricorn’s castle so they can find the author of “Inkheart” which would be their last hope at getting another copy of the rare “Inkheart” book.
Eventually they are able to retrieve a copy, but then when Dustfinger wants to be sent back, Mortimer tells him that he won’t until he reads his wife out of the book. That’s when Dustfinger reveals to him that she had already been previously read out by another reader, and that she’s trapped in Capricorn’s castle. So Mortimer heads back to the castle to save his wife, and leaves his daughter behind in the protection of the author. Unknowingly though, his daughter has inherited the gift of the reader, and is captured by Capricorn’s men who had followed them . Capricorn wants to use her instead, in order to bring one of the most dangerous characters out of the book. In a final, exciting conclusion, his daughter with the help of the author, and Mortimer, is a able to rewrite parts of the book in her favor, bring an end to Capricorn’s evil reign, and send the other characters back into the book.
My Take :Although, I thought that the idea of reading stories, and having the characters come to life wasn’t completely unique. I thought the plot, and execution was.It was a uniquely entertaining movie. Also for me, it had an underlying message which I thought the movie displayed nicely. Which is nothing is really written in stone, and that we do have the power to rewrite our life story the way we want it to go. Not the way someone else has written it,and if we fail to rewrite our story. Someone else will write it for us. This is definitely a good movie for just one person or the entire family..

Inkheart (2009) it is the last movie I have seen. It is about a fantasy that one man making the books he read in to live, pretty good for a story and I think many effects used to make it more magical. Graphic is undone by the movie but still it was a very good attempt. After lord of the rings this was a kind of a magical adventure for children. Even we can enjoy the adventure in the movie. Saw it to day on http://www.80millionmoviesfree.com for a change from dog movies it was a nice move.
