Summit Entertainment released their new drama flick “Fair Game” into theaters today and the top movie critics gave it some really positive reviews with mostly A and B ratings. The movie stars: Naomi Watts, Sean Penn, Noah Emmerich, Liraz Charchi, and Nicholas Sadler.
Ty Burr at the Boston Globe gave it a C rating. He said, “a strident, condescending Hollywood melodrama.” Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a B. He said, “unusually bold for a fictionalization based on real events.”
Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune gave it a B. He said, “it’s an absorbing thriller honoring its subjects without making them saints.” Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B+. He said, “enriches our human understanding of what the politics meant.”
Kirk Honeycutt at the Hollywood Reporter gave it an A-. He said, “might be one of the best spy movies ever, even if it contains little skullduggery.” A.O. Scott at the New York Times gave it an A. He said, “Mr. Penn and Ms. Watts are a convincingly imperfect couple.”
