New Ender’s Game Movie Delivered Great Drama,Action, & More
New Ender’s Game movie delivered great drama, action, & more. Summit Entertainment released their new action/sci-fi flick, “Ender’s Game” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was excellent. It served up some great drama, action ,suspense, and more. It stars: Asa Butterfield, Ben Kingsley, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Nonso Anozie, Stevie Ray Dillmore, Andrea Powell, Moises Arias, Conor Carroll, Aramis Knight, Brandon Soo hoo, Jimmy “Jax” Pinchak, Suraj Parthasarathy, and Khylin Rhambo.
In the new flick, a hostile alien race called the Formics, attacked Earth. However, International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), used some legendary heroics to save the day. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military, trained the best young minds to find the next Mazer.
Eventually, Hyrum decides to recruit Protagonist Andrew “Ender” Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), after seeing that he showed great promise. Shortly after arriving at the Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers.
Ender is soon ordained by Hyrum as the military’s next great hope, and quickly moves up the ranks until he finally reaches the command school, where he’s trained by Mazer Rackham himself. This whole set up, led to a very suspenseful conclusion that included Ender, leading his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that seemingly ends the war for good.
Again, I really enjoyed watching this flick as it was never boring. The plotline kept me highly intrigued for the entire run time. I actually never read the book, so I don’t know how close the script came to it ,nor do I care. I just like to be entertained, and this movie did that for me, so I gave it a solid B+ grade.
