‘Survivor’ March 4, 2020 Voted Off Tyson Apostol (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, March 4, 2020, another new episode for this current season 40 “Winners At War” did indeed air, and another unlucky past winner met their demise at the end of it.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with Rob saying, “I felt bad for Ethan.” As most of you know, Ethan took the hit for Rob’s alliance at the last tribal council meeting.

Adam told the private cams, “I thought Parvati was going home at the last tribal council. I definitely upset people by telling Rob the plan. I need to make an apology tour.” Parvati told Rob, “Thanks for having my back.”

Next, they showed more “Edge of Extinction” footage with the current cast-offs: Natalie, Amber, Danni and Ethan. They were given a new task that would give them each a fire token if they could complete it.

In order to get their fire token, they had to carry a log of firewood down a very steep hill 20 times before sundown. During this very difficult challenge, Natalie was a beast. Everyone talked about how she just kept running up and down that hill like an energizer bunny. Natalie told the private cams with maximum conviction, “I want that fire token.”

Ethan started running into some physical troubles during the challenge. At one point, he collapsed. A paramedic came. She told Ethan, “Your blood pressure is low. So, you’ll keep feeling like you’re about to faint.”

Ethan was upset because he didn’t want to quit. After sitting for a while, the paramedic said he could keep going, but he would need to take some rest breaks periodically.

After Natalie and Amber finished the challenge, they just started bawling. Amber, Natalie and Danni eventually joined Ethan when he completed his last log because they felt so inspired by his tenacity. They all earned a fire token. So, that gave Natalie 4 tokens. She only needs 5 to get back into the game.

Back at the Sele tribe, Jeremy mentioned that Adam started really doing a lot of extra things to help out around camp. He said, “It reminds me how my kids act after they know they’ve done something wrong.” It was pretty funny.

Rob and Parvati kept trying to get Adam to talk, but he wouldn’t tell them anything. So, Rob decided he was just going to lie to the others about Adam to get things done. Surely enough, Rob told Jeremy and Michele that Adam’s been telling them information again.

Jeremy and Michele quickly fell for the lie and said, “Adam’s gotta go.” Jeremy said of Adam,”I’m done with him. I can’t keep baby sitting him.”

Over at the Dakal camp, Sarah told the private cams, “Me and Tyson mesh very well. I think he’s someone I can rely on.”

At one point, Tyson tried to sell a pitch to Sandra and Tony saying, “All three of us are being targeted. We need to work together.” Sandra wasn’t buying any of what Tyson was trying to sell her.

Sandra told the private cams,”Tyson you better hope you win the next immunity challenge because you’re in deep doo doo.” Sandra expressed that she was still pissed off that Tyson tried to campaign to get her out earlier this season.

After that segment, host Jeff Probst showed up with the immunity/rewards challenge. He revealed that the reward is 4, LIVE chickens for their eating pleasure. Sandra sat out again along with Tony. That means Sandra is still yet to compete in an immunity challenge this season. She’s been sitting out of every one of them.

Anyways, during this immunity challenge, some tribemembers from each tribe had to swim to pull a boat with three tribemebers on board it. Then they had to jump and collect three keys that were hanging on a high platform.

Once they collected the three keys, they had to complete another friggin puzzle for the win. Rob and the Sele tribe fell way behind again! I mean super behind because they got stuck trying to get that last key from the high platform.

The Dakal tribe was already working on their puzzle for at least 5 or 6 minutes before Sele was finally able to get their last key, but they got it and headed to complete the puzzle.

Dakal had no business losing this challenge, but for some reason, they had a very hard time with this puzzle, and the Sele tribe didn’t. The Sele tribe came and knocked out the puzzle extremely fast to steal a win they should never have gotten.

My jaw totally dropped while watching this challenge. It was amazing and unbelievable. It had to be one of the biggest comebacks ever.

So, the Dakal tribe had to decide who to get rid for this tribal council. Tyson immediately campaigned to Sarah for Nick to go saying, “He doesn’t do much, and I need him out of the game.”

Yul and pretty much everyone else seem to easily agree with Tyson’s point of view about Nick needing to go, but it was just a little bit too easy.

Wendell and some of the others were secretly plotting to go ahead and vote Tyson out. Once Nick caught wind of Tyson’s campaign efforts against him, he was certainly on board to get rid of Tyson.

However, there was another switch-up at work because Tony said, “I want Tyson to stick around because he can be a shield for me.” So, Tony campaigned to Sarah for Tyson to stay. Sarah then campaigned to Kim to keep Tyson. Kim seemed like she was on board to keep Tyson.

Tony campaigned to Sandra to keep Tyson with the pitch of him being a shield for them. Sandra said Tony’s point does make sense, but she doesn’t trust Tyson.

Going into tribal council, Sandra said, “I like revenge, but I like $2 million dollars even more.” So, it seemed like Sandra was down to go ahead and keep Tyson just before this tribal council meeting started.

At tribal council, they just did some general game talk. Nothing really special stood out. At one point, Nick did say Parvati was his crush. I was like,”I’m right there with you buddy.”

Anyways, they eventually voted, and the results went like this. Nick got 1 vote. Kim got 1 vote, and Tyson got a whopping 5 votes. So, with 5 votes, they did indeed decide to stick with the plan to get rid of Tyson.

When it was time for Tyson to give up his fire token to someone, he said, “I’d rather swallow it,” but he gave it to Nick saying, “Here’s a fire token from your hero, Nick.”
