MasterChef August 16, 2023 Eliminated Kendal Adair (Recap)

Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, August 16, 2023, another new episode for MasterChef’s current season 13 did indeed hit the air, and we saw another unlucky contestant meet the end of the line at the end of it. The usual judges: Joe Bastianich, Gordon Ramsay, and Aarón Sánchez were all on hand once again in this one.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with the remaining contestants showing up at Dodgers stadium for their next challenge. In this challenge, the contestants were split up into two teams of 7 to cook a meal for over 100 kids from the Dodger’s foundation charity. The winning team was safe from elimination.

James was made captain for the Red team. Sav aka Savannah was made captain for the Blue team. Kolby won last week’s immunity challenge. So, he was immune from being eliminated in this team challenge, but he still participated. For his advantage, he got to trade a person from his Blue team for someone from the Red team. He decided to trade Brynn over to the Red team for Kennedy. So, Brynn had to go to the Red team for this challenge.

Next, the teams gathered to decide what they’re going to make and what task each person would do. During this challenge, the Blue team revealed to Gordon that they’re making grilled chicken sandwiches. Kendal was quite confident about cooking the meat. James said his Red team is making a smash hamburger, sweet potato wedges and more to Aaron and Joe. They gave them some advice saying, “It’s a great idea, but a major challenge.”

Later, the teams presented a sample of their meals to the judges. The Blue team was up first. Joe said the cabbage looks like oatmeal. Gordon said, “The fries are undercooked, and they don’t look appetizing for a kid. Joe said, “The whole dish needs to be redone.”

During the Red team’s sample presentation, Gordon complained to Grant that he made the burgers too soon, and they will surely lose if he continues to do that. “They will be like fossils by the time they’re ready to serve,” he said. Joe said, “The balance of the burger looks good.” Gordon said, “The flavor on the burger is good. The sweet potatoes are a mess. Get organized.” James decided to cook the burgers to order so they’ll be fresh.

At one point, Gordon told the Red team that their burgers are ice cold and raw. He told James to check his team or give up being the captain. Brynn was having trouble with grilling the burgers. So, Charles stepped in to grill her portion of the burgers. Some of the Kids complained that the blue team’s chicken was too dry. Kendal starting getting complaints from Gordon about not cooking the chicken fast enough on the blue team. So, he was feeling some heavy pressure.

Ultimately in the end, the kids voted the Red team as the winners of this challenge. So, someone from the Blue team had to get eliminated. The judges said the bottom 3 contestants for the Blue team are: Sav aka Savannah, Kendal and Reagan.

The judges decided to eliminated Kendal. Gordon told Kendal, “You were in charge of the chicken, and it was far from MasterChef standards. You know you should’ve nailed it.” Kendal told the private cams, “I should’ve dominated this challenge, and if you don’t dominate, you’re going home.” How do you guys feel about Kendal Adair getting eliminated in this episode?
