New 60 Minutes December 17, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed

Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. We hope you’re having another terrific weekend. We are, of course, back on here to let you know that you can expect to see another new episode of 60 Minutes from CBS tonight, December 17, 2023. That’s right, guys. They’re going to air the next, new episode 14 of 60 Minutes’ current season 56, and we’ve got some new preview intel for it.

We were able to get a hold of an official press release for tonight’s new episode 14. So, that’s what we’ll be working with as a source for this preview session. Let’s dive into it.

In tonight’s new, December 17, 2023 episode 14, the 60 Minutes team will take a deep look at a story about the greatest art heist in history. It involved the theft of thousands of sacred stone, bronze and gold artifacts from religious sites over in Cambodia.

Correspondent Anderson Cooper handled the reporting duties for this episode. He will take a look at a man named Douglas Latchford who is a British dealer that planned out the heist and ended up selling all the stolen artifacts to the wealthiest collectors in the world. He also sold them to the most prestigious museums, which includes the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Cambodian government has apparently spent a decade trying to track down all of their stolen goods, and they want to get it all back.

Additionally, the 60 Minutes team will do a segment that features an interview with a freed Israeli hostage, and the musical legacy of Gnawa music.

CBS’ official description for tonight’s new, December 17, 2023 episode 14 of 60 Minutes season 56 reads like this, “A year-long investigation by 60 MINUTES examines what might be the greatest art heist in history: the theft of thousands of sacred stone, bronze and gold artifacts from religious sites across Cambodia.

Correspondent Anderson Cooper reports on Douglas Latchford, the British dealer who masterminded the looting amidst genocide, civil war and political turmoil and sold to the world’s wealthiest collectors and most prestigious museums – including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Cambodia’s government has spent the last 10 years tracking it all down and wants their history and heritage brought home.”

An alternate description tells us, “Speaking with a freed Israeli hostage. The theft of thousands of sacred stone, bronze and gold artifacts from religious sites across Cambodia. The musical legacy of Gnawa music.”

CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 14 of 60 Minutes’ current season 56 is indeed scheduled to hit your TV screens tonight, December 17, 2023, starting at approximately 6 pm central standard time or whenever the NFL football game ends. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount +. Tonight’s new episode will be a 90-Minute event. So, expect it to wrap up at 7:30 pm central standard time or 90 minutes after it starts airing.
