‘Death At A Funeral’ Movie Delivered Non-Stop Laughs & Drama
‘Death At A Funeral’ movie delivered non-stop laughs & drama. Screen Gems released their new hilarious comedy remake movie of “Death At A Funeral” this weekend, and Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, and Tracy Morgan did not disappoint in the laughs department. This movie kept me laughing the whole damn time. It stars: Loretta Devine, Peter Dinklage, Ron Glass, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, Martin Lawrence, James Marsden, Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, Zoe Saldana, Columbus Short, and Luke Wilson.
“Death At A Funeral” revolved around a family who’s having a funeral for their dead father, but a few mishaps happen along the way that turn this flick into one big drama-filled riot. Aaron (Chis Rock) is the older brother that’s mostly in charge of everything. Ryan (Martin Lawrence) is the 2nd oldest son who’s a successful writer that’s in debt, but tries to hide it. The funeral is going as planned until Elaine’s (Zoe Saldana) boyfriend knocks over the coffin because he accidentally took some acid pills, and is high as a kite.
Then a midget guy named Frank (Peter Dinklage) tells Aaron that he will expose that his father was gay if he doesn’t give him $30,000. Aaron tells Ryan, and that’s when the drama really unfolds as they try to hide their father’s indiscretions. Their big plan eventually leads to midget Frank ending up in the coffin with their dead dad as one crazy event leads to another, including: Elaine’s drugged up boyfriend almost jumping off the roof, Norman (Tracy Morgan) getting his hand crapped on by Uncle Russell (Danny Glover) while helping him to the toilet, and little midget Frank getting tossed over a couch. It all eventually leads to one big crazy finale at the end.
The movie was extremely funny, and the laughs just never stopped coming. Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence were great together, and Tracy Morgan was very funny as expected. I never saw the original,so I don’t know how similar the plot of that one was to this one,but this version sure was great.
