New Journey 2 The Mysterious Island movie delivered great action,suspense & more. New Line Cinema released their new action/adventure flick “Journey 2:The Mysterious Island” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and I thought it was pretty entertaining as it served up tons of action,suspense,and more. Vanessa Hudgens looked great in it too. The movie stars: Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzman,and Kristen Davis.
In the new flick, character Sean (Josh Hutcherson) appears to be a troubled teenager. However, it’s revealed that he’s been acting out,trying to gather clues that would help him figure out what a distressed signal from his grandfather meant. His stepfather Hank (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) helps him decipher the strange,coded,message Sean’s grandfather sent him.
It revealed that the mysterious island did really exist,and pointed out the coordinates of how to get there. Reluctant on letting Sean go, Hank eventually agrees on one condition,that he goes with him.
They end up traveling to island of Palau,where the so-called island is supposed to be,and run into characters Gabato and his daughter Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens) because they were the only ones willing to take them to that area of the island,since it was so dangerous.
They flew to the area in a helicopter,which got caught up in a freak storm right where the coordinates said the island was. After crash landing,surely enough,they found themselves on the great,mysterious island.
Unfortunately, their fascination put them in immediate danger as they ran into a huge lizard,which came close to eating them. Luckily, Sean’s grandfather showed up on the scene to rescue them. Shortly after that, he introduced them to the area,and showed them he found the lost “City of Atlantis.”
Unfortunately, their little tour didn’t last long after Hank realized the island was about to sink under water in just a couple of days. At this point, they sought out to find Captain Nemo’s tomb,which contained the location of his legendary submarine that could safely take them off the island,and back to Palau.
They eventually found it. However,more dangerous surprises awaited them as the clock counted down to the sinking of the island. This set up for a huge,very suspenseful,conclusion,which had them knocking on death’s door for a minute.
I thought the movie was fun to watch. The plot kept me very interested,so I never got bored. Vanessa Hudgens looked real hot in the movie,wearing nothing but a tank top and short Khaki shorts. It was nice eye candy.
The action and adventure provided a good roller coaster ride as they rode on giant bees as killer,giant, birds tried to attack them,avoided killer lizards,electric fish,and nearly drowning.
