New ‘Lockout’ Movie Delivered Great Action,Thrills,Suspense & More
New ‘Lockout’ movie delivered great action, thrills, suspense & more. FilmDistrict released their new,wild,action/thriller flick “Lockout” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was totally action-packed,thrilling,and fun to watch as it even served up a touch of humor in the process.
It stars: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, Vincent Regan, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Yan Dron, Patrick Cauderlier, Milorad Kapor, Bojan Peric, and Mark Tankersley.
In the new flick, the current date was 2079,and an ex-CIA agent named Snow (Guy Pearce) is held in United States government custody, and interrogated about the events that happened before his capture by Scott Langral, who is the Chief of the United States Secret Service.
Snow’s retelling of the events, shows he was forced to kill assailants and flee with a very valuable briefcase after a secret intelligence exchange meeting goes wrong. He gets in touch with his contact named Mace, and asks for help in storing the case. From there,Snow gets chased all around before, making his way to the train station. Once there,he was able to throw the briefcase to Mase, just before his capture.
Afterwards,Mase stored the briefcase in a secret locker before he was captured. Snow was eventually, wrongly convicted of murder after video evidence make it appear that he shot and killed one of his friends named Frank Armstrong.
From this point,Snow is punished by being sentenced to 30 years of stasis sleep aboard the maximum security orbiting space prison MS:One. Meanwhile, the president’s daughter Emilie Warnock takes a trip to MS: One to see how things are going at the prison, and to question one of the prisoners. Unfortunately, while doing so, Emilie’s bodyguard Hock, sneaks a gun into the prisoner’s side of the room.
Eventually,Hock gets pissed at the prisoner, and gets close enough for the prisoner to steal his gun, shoots up stuff, and breaks free. He also busts out all the rest of the prisoners, and they wreak total havoc on the place.
At this point,Intelligence officer Harry Shaw suggests, waking Snow up to go in and rescue the president’s daughter instead of sending a whole swat team in,because that could get everyone killed. Snow eventually agrees to go because he knows his old pal Mase is in there with info to where he stored that valuable briefcase.
Snow eventually gets inside MS: One,and locates Emilie, but has a hard time with her as she also wants to save the rest of the hostages, and that wasn’t on Snow’s agenda list,or the orders he was given. Snow also located Mase, only to find out his mind was damaged from the stasis sleep. However,Mase did spit out enough info for Emilie to decipher just before he got killed.
Finally, the whole thing, capped off with a huge,action-filled conclusion as Snow had to rescue Emilie from getting killed by the rest of the prisoners, and get her off MS: One before the government blew the whole place to bits. They also threw in a nice, little, twist with Harry Shaw at the end.
I thought it was a very fun and lively movie to watch. The chemistry between characters Snow and Emilie was humorous to watch as lots of jokes were cracked. I also liked the suspense that it served up towards the end.
This was my first time seeing Guy Pearce on the big screen, but he did a great job as character Snow. He was very funny. I gave the movie a solid B grade. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
