New ‘Looper’ Movie Delivered Great Action,Drama & A Wicked Cool Storyline
New ‘Looper’ movie delivered great action, drama & a wicked cool storyline. TriStar Pictures (Sony) released their new action/sci-fi flick “Looper” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and thought it was an excellent flick. I never got bored, because the storyline was super intriguing, and it also served up a ton of action, drama, and more. The movie stars: Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Noah Segan, Piper Perabo, and Jeff Daniels.
In the new flick, time travel will be invented, but it’s illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they send their target 30 years into the past, where a character called a “looper” is waiting and assigned to kill the target on-spot as soon as they arrive. When the target arrives, they’re bound, gagged, and masked just waiting to be shot by the looper.
Also, the targets have silver attached to them, which serves as payment to the Loopers. However, since this activity is so illegal, the mob eventually does something called “closing the loop.” In closing the loop, they find the looper’s future self and send them back 30 years to be killed by their younger version, because the mob wants to close any and all ties with the looper, including the fact that the looper even exist. The looper knows that his loop has been closed when the target has gold bars attached to them instead of silver. From there, they’re instructed to live out the rest of their 30 years any way they would like.
The plot of this film gets really wicked when character Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) lives out his thirty years after killing off his loop. Bruce Willis plays Joe’s older version, and he decides to go back in time after the mob kills off his wife,so that he can kill a boy that eventually grows up to be someone they call the Rainmaker, who is the mastermind behind the time travel assassinations and for the murder of his wife.
When old Joe arrives,he causes young Joe to hesitate, and knocks him to stop him from killing him. Later on,he meets back up with young Joe and reveals his plans to kill off the young Rainmaker boy. However, young Joe doesn’t agree.
They eventually split up and go on the run as the mob is after them both, because they’re trying to clean up the mess. Young Joe eventually makes his way to a house that old Joe told him about.. Once there,he meets a mother and her son,who turns out to be the Rainmaker. Meanwhile, old Joe takes out the entire mob,and offers young Joe a huge bag of gold bars in exchange for letting him kill the little Rainmaker boy. Young Joe doesn’t agree, which sets up a huge conclusion that involves lots of drama,a wicked shootout, and a very dramatic ending.
Again, I thought the movie was highly entertaining with tons of twists and turns. Both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis did a really great job, bringing a lot of intensity and drama to their respective roles. They also added a touch comedy to it at times as well. I gave the movie a solid A+ grade. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
