‘Sorority Row’ Movie Brought Horror,Nudity, And Mystery
Summit Entertainment released it’s new horror flick, “Sorority Row” this weekend, and it was a total mix between the “Scream” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” horror movies of the late 90’s. The only difference is, that it revolved around a group of ThetaPi sorority sisters, and a college prank gone horribly wrong.
In a brief synopsis, a sorority girl named Megan plays a prank on her boyfriend with her other sorority sisters because he cheated on her. She pretends that she’s overdosed on drugs while kissing him.
They eventually convince her boyfriend that she’s dead, and that they need to cut up her body and hide it,or else they could go down for it,and that’s when things go horribly wrong. The boyfriend guy believes it so much, that he decides he’s going to go ahead and start the process while the girls are looking away.
Unbeknownst to him, he gets a rude awakening after he stabs Megan in the chest with a tire iron, and she starts screaming. So now that Megan is really dead, their idea that was once a prank, now becomes real. They hide Megan’s body, and go about their lives like nothing happened,or at least they try. They vow to tell noone what happened.
Shortly after that, each of the sorority members that knew about it, start to get killed off, one by one. After discovering a couple of dead bodies and receiving a couple of video text messages of what happened that night, the rest of the “living” sorority sisters try to find out who’s the culprit.
In a rocky twist, they eventually do,and are able to seemingly resolve the situation. But I’m not 100% sure because they added an interesting little scene at the end which could make one seem that this little story isn’t quite over, yet. We could see a “Sorority Row 2” in the future.
I enjoyed watching the movie. It was far from boring. Aside from the horror, nudity, and killing, it brought an air of mystery about it. It made you wonder, who the heck is killing everyone. And it added a lot of twists and turns in the story to kind of throw you off track.
I really dug it. It constantly had me on the edge of my seat because I always get that way when I know a murder scene is coming up. If you liked the “Scream” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” movies of the late 90’s, then you’ll enjoy this type of horror flick.
