In “Fired Up !” Nick (Eric Christian Olsen) and Shawn (Nicholas D’Agosto) are both high school football stars who really like girls, and likes to date a lot of girls so much in fact that after overhearing some of the girls from the cheerleading squad talk about going to cheerleading camp where there would be over 300 new girls they just couldn’t resist.

They decide to cook up a scheme with the help of Shawn’s little sister, Poppy (Juliette Goglia) to convince the cheerleading coach that they need male cheerleaders on the squad so they can go to cheerleader camp instead of football camp. Carly (Sarah Roemer), the cheerleader captain doesn’t buy their act, but has to go along with it since they’ve convinced the coach they belong there.

Once Nick and Shawn arrive at the camp they see all the beautiful cheerleaders and cannot resist. They immediately start hitting on as many girls as they can. They also meet some funny gay bunk mates, and a crazy male cheerleading camp coach who they cheer naked for. After Shawn has a couple of interactions with Carly they start to grow close. Shawn starts to really like her,but then he finds out she has an arrogant boyfriend named Rick (David Walton) when he pulls up in his car one night. Nick and Shawn originally agreed to bail from the squad after two weeks, but Shawn decides he really wants to stay and help out the squad win a camp cheerleading contest.

Carly’s jerk of a boyfriend finds out their original intentions of leaving and tells Carly. She gets angry and tells them to leave. Nick and Shawn do leave, but decide to come back, and make a heart felt apology to Carly. She decides to let them back on for the team, and they help them place higher than the usual last place finish they always placed in before. Other scenes included funny confrontations with a rival cheerleading squad, “The Panthers” in which Gwyneth ( New 90210’s AnnaLynne McCord) is the captain. Also Carly finds out that Nick is cheating on her when she sees him making out with Gwyneth, and ends up dumping Nick to be with Shawn.

My Take : The movie was very funny just like the “Bring It On” movies. The only problem was that it reminded me to much of the “Bring It On” movies. I even saw a girl in one of the scenes who was in one of the “Bring It On” films so yeah I had to shave points for originality, but other than that, I had a great time watching this film. The on air chemistry between Nicholas D’Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen as Nick and Shawn was awesome. They are extremely funny actors. Although it was not the most original plot, I thought the build up and story flowed nicely with great classic high school comedy scenes. Anyone thinking of watching this film, I think will definitely get their laugh on if they see it.

I have both positive and negative opinion about “Fired up” .Some of the scenes made me laugh. But the rest of the scenes were old and predictable. The story-line seemed boring to me.And its aimed for the teenage guys only.Don’t take your girlfriend to this movie! My average rating would be 3.5/5.
