‘Ninja Assassin’ movie gets mediocre reviews from top movie critics. Warner Bros. Pictures new action flick, “Ninja Assassin” didn’t amaze the critics with its debut this weekend. It stars : Rain, Naomie Harris, Ben Miles, Sho Kosugi, and Rick Yune. The critics gave it pretty mixed reviews, but overall, they were mediocre.

Wesley Morris from the Boston Globe gave it a C-. He stated, “this long, thanklessly repetitive slice-kick-and-shoot-’em-up has nothing to offer but the aggravating awareness that Jet Li and Jason Statham have done it better.”

Geoff Berkshire over at the Chicago Tribune gave it a D. He said, “The rotten clichés pile up faster than the bodies in this Z-movie disaster.”

Peter Paras at E! Online rated it a C-. He stated, “a mess of choppy editing and bad CGI.” Chris Nashawaty from Entertainment Weekly gave it a B. He said, “There’s a brutal (and admittedly very cool) fight scene every five minutes.”

David Thomas from Filmcritic.com gave it a C-. He said, “Uncertain of what it wants to be, Ninja Assassin will likely disappoint action fans with excessive CGI gore, and gore fans with excessive uninspired action.”

Ethan Alter from Hollywood Reporter rated it a C,stating, “Long on awesomely bloody action sequences, short on a memorable plot or characters.”

The New York Post’s Kyle Smith gave it a B- rating. He stated, that it was “bloodier than peak hour at the abattoir.”

Finally,Mick LaSalle over at the San Francisco Chronicle gave it a D. He said, “It’s a gorefest, a borefest and a snorefest.”

I don’t care what they say. I’m still going to check this one out.
