New Riverdale Season 3 Is Bringing On Two New Characters For Action

Hey, fellow “Riverdale” fans. We’ve got some pretty exciting and intriguing new Riverdale season 3 news to share with you guys. It turns out that the show is bringing on a new male and female to befriend the Coopers Betty and Alice.

However, one of them is supposed to have some possibly really dark secrets they’re hiding. On the surface, it will appear that these two are helping Betty and Alice, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s really the case.

These characters were introduced through The CW’s latest casting call. The first new character is a female named Evelyn Evernever. The second one is a male named Edgar Evernever. They will be a father and daughter duo. According to CW’s casting call information for the role of Evelyn, she will be a recurring character. So, we’ll see her in action from time to time. She’ll be looking to befriend Betty Cooper, and she also might be hiding some very dark secrets about herself! So, that sounds particularly interesting depending on exactly what these dark secrets are.

CW’s casting call for Evelyn reads like this: “Female, Late Teens – Early 20’s to play Late Teens, Open Ethnicity. Otherworldly, seemingly omnipresent, and a bit odd. She’s eager to befriend Betty, and is surprisingly insightful for her age, but may be hiding dark secrets about herself. (While not required, a possible direction for the role is a girl who is physically reminiscent of “Betty”.) MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR.”

They made a point to say Evelyn is a “major” recurring star. So, it sounds like she will have quite an impact on the show. Currently, the producers are looking to cast and actress to play her.

As for Evelyn’s father Edgar Evernever, CW’s casting call description describes him as being a new-age health guru. He will make a big impact on Betty’s mother Alice Cooper’s life!

The full CW casting call for Edgar reads like this: “Male, Late 30’s – Early 40’s, Open Ethnicity. A recent arrival in Riverdale with his daughter Evelyn, Edgar is a new-age health “guru” who has helped Alice get her life together after the events of Season Two. He’s attractive, in a neighborly way, and charismatic—a wise, comforting presence. (An actor with ‘90’s-2000’s pop-culture cachet is a plus.) MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR.”

The CW also made it a point to describe Edgar as being a “major” recurring star. So, we expect him to do big things on the show as well. Like Evelyn, The CW is currently trying to cast a male to play him.

So, what do you guys think about these new Evelyn and Edgar characters based on the information you have so far? Are you happy about it? Are you sad? Or do you just not care one way or the other? Let us know in the Facebook comments.

In related news, we previously reported that season 3 is going to have a Sin City type of vibe to it now that Veronica’s father Hiram Hodge has taken over Riverdale. We also might see Jughead’s mother and sister show up on the scene at some point.

We might see some conflict arise among Jughead, Betty and Veronica when Archie gets thrown in jail because he’s pretty much the glue that holds them all together. It’s been confirmed that the weird Chic Cooper character will make a return in season 3 at some point.

Most recently, the folks over at TV Line did a write-up about who might visit Archie while he’s locked up in jail. They chatted with a few of the Riverdale castmembers to get some answers to this burning question. Vanessa Morgan who plays character Toni Topaz told them Toni might give Archie some sage advice from her own past run-ins with the law.

Charles Melton who plays character Reggie Mantle said Reggie might put his issues with Archie aside for now and pay him a visit. Last, but most certainly not least, they talked with Cole Sprouse who plays Jughead. He mentioned that Jughead has some big and very explosive ideas for what he can do for Archie. In other words, he’s going to lead the charge to try and break Archie out of jail! You guys can see video of those interviews over on Youtube by Clicking Here.

Riverdale season 3 is scheduled to debut on Wednesday night, October 10, 2018 at 7 pm central standard time on The CW. Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our Riverdale Facebook page for more Riverdale news by Clicking Here.
