Disney World Is About To Introduce A New Super Ride Attraction And Technology
Hey,”Disney World” fans. It’s time for you guys to get ready because Disney World is about to pull out some major stops for a major, new attraction and ride they’re currently building! Along with that, they are working on some amazing new technology that is sure to astound.
According to the folks over at wftv.com , Bob Chapek who is the chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products recently attended the “International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions conference” in Orlando,Florida. While there, he talked about these new, upcoming additions.
To get things started, Bob said, “We’ve made the conscious decision to control our own destiny. To be the disruptor, not the disrupted.” After that, Bob went on to introduce the first set of new technology which is called A1000s. It’s a new animatronics which is Disney’s most innovative and expensive animatronics yet.
The second set of new technology Bob talked about was stunt-tronics. It’s described as Animatronics that can do stunts too dangerous for humans like flying through the air and doing superhero-like moves.
After that, Bob talked about a new and highly anticipated roller coaster ride and attraction that’s coming to Epcot in 2021. It’s the new “Guardians of the Galaxy” ride which is currently being built at the former Universe of Energy pavilion.
It’s supposed to be one of the longest, enclosed roller coasters in the entire world! It was revealed that the foundation for the new “Guardians Of The Galaxy” ride caused Disney World to have to do the largest concrete pour in Walt Disney World’s history. The building is so big, it can fit four Spaceship Earths inside of it!
The ride will actually spin as it moves, and it will feature a storyline that revolves around the plot and characters from the popular Marvel movie. Bob explained, “On most coasters, the vehicles point straight ahead throughout the ride. But, on this attraction, each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you.
That means instead of whizzing by the action, you’ll be fully immersed in the story from the minute you launch. Guests will be able to experience it when it opens in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.”
Along with all that, Bob also talked about a new gondola system they’re working on. It’s going to be called Skyliner. It’s supposed to be fully operational by the fall of 2019. They have been building towers across the landscape of the property for months now.
When it finally opens, the new Skyliner is supposed to connect Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and four resorts: Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and the new Rivera Resort, which is set to open in 2019.
Wftv pointed out that it’s still not known what the actual gondolas will look like. Disney World is apparently trying to keep that under wraps at the moment. To cap things off, Bob revealed that Disney World has no plans of ever slowing down. He stated, “In this industry, complacency is the biggest threat.”
So, it certainly does sound like Disney World is about to bring some more mind-blowing attractions to their theme parks pretty soon! What do you guys think about them? Are you excited?
