American Idol Eliminated Laci Kaye Booth & Wade Cota Tonight, May 12, 2019

Tonight, May 12, 2019, the remaining final 5, American Idol contestants did indeed hit the stage to do another set of performances for America’s vote. And unfortunately, two of them just did not make the cut. They performed three song tonight. Since there’s less people in the competition, they had enough time to do so. Of course, all the judges: Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan were on hand.

Wade Cota was the first performer of the night. He sang, “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. Afterwards, Katy said, “I’m so happy that contestants are pushed past their comfort zones. You met that challenge. I want you to let go even more.” Luke said, “I like that you didn’t over do it. You were very easy to listen to.” Lionel said, “Just enjoy this ride. Relax a little.”

Take more chances.”

After all that, Alejandro Aranda took over the stage to sing, “No Woman No Cry” by Bob Marley and the Wailers. Afterwards, Lionel told Alejandro, “You understand what it is to be an artist. Bring it out in the first 30 seconds.”

Next, the final 5 sang songs by musical legend, Elton John. Elton was also nice enough to tape a special message for the top 5 singers.

Wade Cota started off things again by singing, “Rocket Man.” Afterwards, Lionel told Wade,”You’re doing something right and perfect. I like that you took on a character.” Katy said, “I like your characters too. You’re hilarious. I feel sad, but I feel so connected to that.”

Madison VanDenburg hit the stage next to sing, “Your Song.” Afterwards, Lionel told Madison,”That song got me into the songwriting business. You are coming to this competition with a bat to knock everybody out!” Katy said, “You just gave us the ketchup and the mustard. You keep singing like that.” Luke said, “Your voice is soulful and rangy. How do we have this talent in front of us?”

Next, Laine Hardy arrived on stage for his second performance. He sang, “Something About the Way You Look Tonight.” Afterwards, Katy told Laine that his vocal coach lessons are working stating, “It really shows. Vote, vote, vote.” Katy said, “Stay humble homie.” Luke said, “I am not worthy. I will champion you as much as I can.”

After that, host Ryan Seacrest got right down to business by revealing that Laine Hardy, Madison VanDenberg and Alejandro Aranda were all safe this week, and are this years top 3 contestants! Unfortunately, that also meant that poor Laci Kaye Booth and Wade Cota were eliminated.
