The three final contests were: Chayce Beckham, Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence. Tonight’s LIVE show kicked off with Macklemore performing, “Can’t Hold Us.” Chayce, Grace and Willie joined him.

Shortly after that, the three finalists performed songs that the judges picked for them. Grace was up first. She sang, “All By Myself” by Celine Dion.

Afterwards, Katie said, “It was vulnerable power. I felt you.” Lionel said, “You’re a storyteller with a great voice.”

Next, Willie Spence hit the stage to sing, “Georgia on my Mind” by Ray Charles. Afterwards, Luke Bryan said, “I can smell magnolias. You have delivered since you walked into the audition.” Lionel said, “You’re a religious experience. That was a great performance.” Katy said, “Hallelujah, I needed my hanky!”

Chayce Beckham hit the stage ,next, to sing, “Blackbird” by The Beatles. Afterwards, Lionel said, “You have an identifiable voice. You gave us that identity. You’re going all the way.” Katy said, “Chayce the Ace.”

Next, the contestants sang Hometown songs. Grace was up first again with the song, “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston.

Afterwards, Katy said, “By the Grace of God! Vote right now for Grace!” Luke said, “If you don’t like this show, you’re crazy.” Lionel said, “You have outdone yourself.”

Willie Spence was up next. He sang, “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. Afterwards, Luke said, “It’s the best version of the song on Idol ever.” Lionel said,”You’re inspiring. Bathe in this moment.”

Next, Chayce Beckham hit the stage to sing, “Fire Away” by Chris Stapleton. Afterwards, Lionel said, “Your song was a great choice for your voice. That grit you have is undeniable.” Katy said, “Stay the guy from Apple Valley.” Luke said, “You opened up a lot over the course of the competition.”

Shortly after that, Alyssa Wray and Mickey Guyton from season 7 hit the stage to sing “Black Like Me.” After that, host Ryan Seacrest got right down to business by revealing that poor Grace Kinstler was indeed eliminated at this point. Apparently, the viewing audience got to vote LIVE tonight after those first two rounds of performances, and Grace just didn’t quite cut it for them.

That left Willie Spence and Chayce Beckham as your American Idol 2021, top 2 contestants.
