Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, May 18,2022, another new episode of Survivor’s current season 42 did indeed hit the air, and we saw another heavy duty, blindside take place at the end.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with talk about the last tribal council meeting, which sent Drea Wheeler packing with a blindside. Everyone congratulated Lindsay on winning the dreaded “do or die” challenge. Lindsay said she now has an amulet idol since Drea went out. Omar talked about how his plan to get out Drea worked perfectly. He told the private cams his next targets are Mike or Jonathan.

Mike told the private cams, “I have to cut Omar. I know he doesn’t want me to make it to the end because I’m too likable.” Mike campaigned to Maryanne to get Omar out. Maryanne told the private cams that Mike is right about not being able to beat Omar in the end. Maryanne told Mike, “I have an extra vote.” Maryanne told the private cams, “If I don’t get Omar out, I’m not going to win.”

Then, Maryann was seen running back and telling Omar about her and Mike’s conversation. Lindsay told the private cams, “I want Jonathan gone.” Jonathan told the private cams, “I don’t trust Lindsay and Omar. They both have to go if I’m going to win this game.”

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with a new Reward challenge for the remaining cast. During it, they had to unspool a coil of rope. Then, make it through an obstacle course to untie some keys to unlock puzzle pieces. From there, they had to use the puzzle pieces to solve a block puzzle. The first one to complete it, won, and Omar turned out to be the winner! Omar’s prize was either grilled chicken and veggies, or chocolate cake and cookies.

Omar was also given the option of taking two more people with him if he chose the grilled chicken and veggies meal. He was given the option of taking 3 extra people with him if he chose the chocolate cake and cookies option. Omar went with the chocolate cake and cookies, and chose to take: Romeo, Maryanne and Mike with him.

Omar told the private cams, “Jonathan and Lindsay are my two targets. So, I wanted to deprive them a little bit.” Jonathan told the private cams, “I know Lindsay’s trying to get me out. So, I’m just trying to make her feel comfortable.” Lindsay echoed the same thing about Jonathan.

Lindsay told Mike that she has an idol. Mike figured out it was probably the amulet idol. So, he ran back and told Jonathan about it. Mike was also seen making a deal with Maryanne to use his idol on her at final 5 if she would help him get Omar out. Maryanne told the private cams she’s down to get Omar out. Mike also told Maryanne that Lindsay told him she has an idol. Maryann told the private cams, “That makes me realize I’m just someone Lindsay thinks she can sacrifice.”

Next, we saw another Immunity challenge. During it, they had to race over a series of obstacles. Then, they had to untie and collect planks to build a staircase. Next, they had to climb the staircase to collect table maze balls. Finally, they had to land two balls in two holes on a maze table for the win. Lindsay just edged out Jonathan for the win! So, Lindsay was safe.

Jonathan told the private cams, “I hate that Lindsay won immunity. Mike and I are going to vote Romeo out.” Lindsay told the private cams, “Jonathan has to go.” Lindsay campaigned to Maryanne and Romeo to get Jonathan out, and they appeared to agree with her in that moment.

Omar told the private cams, “It’s Jonathan going with Mike as a backup plan.” However, here’s where the big twist came into play. Maryanne told the private cams, “I feel Omar can win this whole thing.” So, Maryanne tried to campaign to Mike to get Omar out instead of Romeo.

Mike pleaded with Maryanne to try and get Romeo out, now, because they can’t get Omar out tonight. Maryanne continued to campaign to Romeo to get Omar out by telling him she has an extra vote. Romeo smiled and seemed enthusiastic about it.

Maryanne took another shot with Jonathan and Mike to execute her plan to get out Omar. Mike still wasn’t on board saying, it was too risky to trust Romeo, and they should try and get Romeo out. Maryanne said, “We could get Romeo out, but then our path to the end would be more difficult. So, we need to take the risk to try and get Omar out tonight.”

After all of that, we finally got to the Tribal council meeting footage. They just did some general talking about the game before casting their votes. Then, Jeff Probst revealed that Romeo got 2 votes. Jonathan got 2 votes, and Omar received 3 votes. So, with the 3 votes, Omar got ousted in major blindside fashion. Omar took it well though. He knew it was Maryanne who did him in, and he told her, “Good job! Love you, guys. See you soon.”
