The Challenge USA August 17, 2022 Eliminated Kyland Young & Kyra Green (Recap)
Hey, “The Challenge USA” fans. Tonight, August 17, 2022, another new episode of The Challenge USA season 1 hit the air, and another two contestants got sent packing at the end.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the algorithm switching up teams again. Enzo Palumbo was paired with Angela Rummons. Danny McCray with Justine Ndiba. David Alexander with Cashay Proudfoot. Kyland Young with Kyra Green. Leo Temory with Alyssa Lopez. Domenick Abbate with Cayla Platt. Tyson Apostol with Sarah Lacina and Ben Driebergen with Desi Williams.
Tyson told the private cams, “I’m happy to be paired with Sarah because she’s currently coming after me. If she’s partnered with me, she can’t get rid of me.”
Sarah was seen telling Tyson, “You deserve to be here and make it to the finals.” However, Sarah told the private cams, “I will never trust Tyson.” Tyson told the private cams, “I know deep down in Sarah’s heart, she doesn’t like me.”
Next, host TJ Lavin showed up with the new challenge. It was titled, “Wreck-Reational Driving.” During it, they had to drive a car with four balls attached to the side of it. If their car wrecked, or if all of their balls popped, they were eliminated. Also, the driver had to wear a blindfold while their partner directed them where to go.
The last car to keep driving, won the challenge. Alyssa and Leo ended up wrecking their car ,first, putting them in last place and automatically sent to the elimination challenge. Cayla & Domenick ended up winning the coveted first place spot. So, they won $10,000 for their challenge accounts, and they also got to pick who went up against Alyssa and Leo in the elimination challenge.
Leo & Alyssa talked with Domenick & Cayla about who they wanted to face in the elimination challenge. Alyssa said she wasn’t interested in trying to suggest to Domenick and Cayla who should go up against them because she doesn’t really have a relationship with either one of them, and she didn’t want any of her words to be used against her. She said, “I will just face whoever they put against us.”
Domenick mentioned that he was considering Enzo & Angela, Kyland & Kyra or Tyson & Sarah. Meanwhile, Cayla wanted to put as many people on edge as she could.
Angela talked with Cayla and told her, “The reason we’ve never talked game is because you were never my target and never even on my radar.” Angela proceeded to give Cayla a deal saying, “Even if you’re partnered with a man who wants to go into an elimination round later to earn money, I won’t put you in there.” Angela gave Domenick the same deal. Domenick told the private cams, “I don’t trust Angela at all. I want her to feel what it’s like to be vulnerable.”
Domenick was seen telling Kyland, “You’re on the shortlist to go into elimination. Could we possibly make a deal?” Kyland said, “I feel good about my odds going into an elimination with Kyra, but I don’t want to send Alyssa home. I would repay that favor if you keep me out of the elimination challenge this week.”
At the elimination challenge, Domenick and Cayla decided to throw Kyland & Kyra up against Alyssa & Leo. Cayla told the private cams, “Kyland has had 1 on 1 conversations with everyone in the house except me. I thought I would finally get a conversation with Kyland this week, but it never happened. So, this decision was pretty easy.” Domenick told the private cams, “I’m fine with this pick because I really don’t want to possibly face Kyland in a final.”
The elimination challenge was titled, “Ball & Chain.” During it, they were presented with a wall with six panels. Behind every panel was a trivia question. There was also a rack of chained up medicine balls on either side. One team member had to prop their partner up to reveal one of the questions. On each ball, there was an answer to every question. They had to free up that ball and place it above every question. The first team to answer all six questions correctly, won.
It turned out to be a really close race between these two teams. They went back and forth, taking the lead. Heck at one point, Kyland and & Kyra thought they completed it before Alyssa and Leo and called for a check, but they were wrong.
Then, Alyssa & Leo called for a check, but they were wrong. After that, Alyssa & Leo finally got everything together and just edged out Kyland & Kyra for the win. So, poor Kyland and Kyra were eliminated in this episode. How do you guys feel about that? Let us know in the comments section.
