Hey, “Law & Order” fans. We hope you guys totally savored every minute of episode 22 tonight, especially since it was indeed the finale episode of this season 22 of Law & Order. That’s right, guys. This season 22 of Law & Order is officially a wrap as of tonight. That means you guys will have to wait quite some time before you get another new episode of Law & Order.

The good news is that you will get another new episode at some point because NBC has officially renewed Law & Order for a brand new season 23. That’s right, guys. Law & Order will be back with another new season of new episodes next season.

Currently, it’s unknown how many episodes season 23 will deliver or when it will debut. Normally, we could say it’ll be back this Fall, but with this writers strike going on, the wait might be a little longer.

According to the folks over at TVLine.com , NBC gave Law & Order an early renewal back in April 2023. Law & Order creator Dick Wolf made a very positive statement during the renewal announcement saying, “I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC.

All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”

NBC also renewed the Law & Order spinoffs: Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: OC. So, if you’re also a fan of those shows, that’s triple good news.

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Law & Order season 22 averaged 4.400 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.45 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Thursday night, May 11, 2023, managed to draw in 3.931 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.33 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was episode 12 with 5.376 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 6 with 3.734 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.60 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episodes 20 and 21. They both tied for last place with a 0.33 ratings score. When you tack on the numbers from the streaming platforms, the average viewership numbers shoot to 6 million, and the average ratings score shoots to a 0.70 ratings score.
