MasterChef August 14, 2024 Eliminated Christopher, Geags & Anna (Recap)

Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, August 14, 2024, two, new episodes for MasterChef’s current season 14 finally hit the air after weeks of delays, and we saw three more contestants get the boot after they were all wrapped up.

Tonight’s first episode kicked off with the remaining contestants learning they had to make a delicious birthday cake. Judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Joe Bastianich were all on hand. Anna won an advantage in the last cooking challenge. Her advantage was that she got to pick which team had to cook with no electronic mixers. She chose the Gen Z group. So, all the Gen Z contestants had to mix all their ingredients by hand. The contestants were given 90 minutes to complete this challenge.

During this challenge, Kimberly told Aaron and Joe she was baking a vanilla cake. Becca told Gordon she was baking a chocolate cake. Rebecca told Joe and Aaron she was baking a chocolate mayonnaise cake. Fatima told Gordon she was making a white cake. Kamay told Gordon she was making a confetti cake. She said she messed up the frosting and had to do it over.

Anna told Gordon she was making a caramel frosting cake. At one point, Fatima ran into trouble with the mixing because she had no mixer due to the Gen Z group getting stuck doing everything by hand. She said she was getting exhausted.

Christoper told Aaron and Joe he was making a black forest cake. Geags said he was making a vanilla cake. Anna ran into issues with the construction of her cake. It started tipping over. She told the private cams, “I can’t believe this is happening. I’m so disappointed.”

After the judge took a quick look at all the cakes, they revealed that the top 4 cakes belonged to: Becca, Kamay, Kimberly and Christopher.

Becca presented a 3-layer chocolate cake. Gordon said, “It’s beautiful.” Joe said, “It’s fantastic. Good job.” Aaron said, “Smart choice.” Gordon said, “It tastes delicious. Good job.”

Kamay presented lemon confetti cake. Joe said, “It’s well constructed. I love it. It’s quite delicious.” Aaron said, “Good attention to detail. It’s delicious.” Gordon said, “It’s delicious. Incredible.”

Kimberly presented a vanilla cake with strawberry jam filling. Aaron said, “It has good tartness. Good job.” Gordon said, “It’s delicious and elegant.” Joe said,”I like the restraint of this cake. It feels like you could eat it for breakfast.”

Christopher presented a black forest cake. Joe said, “It’s the most professional-looking cake.” Aaron said, “This is a showstopper. Good job.” Joe said, “This is the best I’ve tasted. Top notch.” Gordon said, “This is the best dish you’ve made so far. It deserves a smile.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Becca had the best cake. So, she won immunity from the next challenge and safety for her entire Gen Z team.

Next, the judges revealed that the worst cakes belonged to Anna, Arthur and Geags. Anna presented a brown butter coffee cake. Joe said, “Ambition got the better of you here. It’s literally falling apart.” Gordon said, “It’s incredibly dense.” Joe said, “The filling is off balance. It’s too dense. Every component is flawed.” Aaron said, “It’s bad. I’m sorry.” Gordon said, “It’s too sweet. I can’t take a second bite.”

Arthur presented a strawberry and cream cake. Joe said, “It’s too simple for me. It’s a mess.” Aaron said, “The strawberries did not have enough time to maturate.” Gordon said, “You overloaded it with cream.”

Geags presented a vanilla cake with blueberries. Gordon said, “I can’t believe you put raw flour in the frosting. It’s inedible.” Joe said,”It doesn’t taste like cake. It taste like blueberry pancakes.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Anna and Geags’ cakes were so bad that they had to eliminate both of them! Gordon mentioned again to Geags that the raw flour in the icing led to his downfall. Geags told the private cams, “I’m going to take what I learned and move on.” Anna told the private cams, “This cake doesn’t define me as a cook.”

In the second episode, the contestants had to complete a mystery box challenge. The ingredients in these mystery boxes were from each generations’ childhood. Becca didn’t have to do this challenge because she won the last challenge. She also got to choose which box each generation/team had to cook from.

She made the Gen Z team cook with the Millennials’ box. She made Mellennials cook with the Baby Boomers’ box. She made the Gen X team cook with the Gen X box. She made the Baby Boomers cook with the Gen Z box. The contestants had to use at least 4 ingredients from their mystery boxes, and they were given 45 minutes to do it.

During this challenge, Horacio told Gordon he was making a meatball croquette dish. Daniela told Joe and Aaron she was making a brown turkey meatball dish. Warren said he was making a boneless chicken thigh dish.

Christopher told Gordon he’s making a pan fry chicken thigh dish. Arthur told Joe and Aaron he’s making a steak and egg dish. Murt told Gordon he’s making a steak dish. Michael told Joe and Aaron he’s making a pork chop dish. After they ran out of time, Arthur told the private cams that his egg was raw. So, he was in trouble.

The judges checked all the dishes, and revealed that the top 4 dishes belonged to Horacio, Hallie, Daniela and Michael. Horacio presented a veggie burger croquetts dish. Gordon said, “It looks good. They’re delicious.” Aaron said, “Good moisture.” Joe said, “I like everything else but the sauce. It’s too spicey.”

Hallie presented a lemon salmon dish. Gordon said, “It looks delicious.” Joe said, “It’s an excellent dish. Good job.” Aaron said, “It has great elements.” Gordon said, “It’s your best so far. Good job.”

Daniela presented a chicken flavored Ramen noodles dish. Joe said, “The meatballs are delicious and, they have an authentic taste.” Aaron said, “Good broth.” Gordon said,”It’s a really good dish. Great job.”

Michael presented a Bran Flakes breaded porkchop dish. Gordon said, “I love the creativity. The bran flakes works. Great job.” Aaron said, “It’s so loaded with flavor. It’s delicious.” Joe said, “It’s impressive. It’s on another level.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Michael had the best dish. So, he won immunity from the next challenge and safety for his entire Millenials team.

Next, the judges decided that the 3 worst dishes belonged to Christopher, Murt and Arthur. Christopher presented a pan seared chicken thigh dish. Gordon said, “The chicken is raw. So we can’t eat it.” Joe said, “If the chicken was cooked properly, this would actually be a pretty good dish.” Gordon said, “Yeah, it’s a shame.”

Murt presented a wagyu filet dish. Joe said, “It’s a sloppy, messy, dirty plate.” Gordon said, “You absolutely butchered the filet.” Aaron said, “The other elements were put together well.” Joe said, “Bad execution.”

Arthur presented a New York Strip steak dish. Gordon said, “It looks lackluster. The eggs are underecooked.” Joe said, “This is an epic fail.” Gordon said, “It’s underwhelming.” Aaron said, “This is not good.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Christopher had the worst dish. Gordon mentioned to Christopher that the raw chicken is what got him eliminated. Christopher told the private cams, “MasterChef is no joke. It’s a tough journey. I’m proud that I got to this point. It has changed my life.”
