In related news, Comicbook.com also pointed out that actress Ashleigh Murray who plays character Josie McCoyon on Riverdale commented on the new season 3 saying that they have some really great plans in store. She stated, “You know, our show is ever-evolving. So sometimes, we have these really great ideas and really great plans that don’t always come to fruition because maybe something else might come up that works better. But we do have some really great things in the works. We’re very, very lucky. Roberto is so open to conversations about what we’d like to see for our characters which is very rare.”
Also as previously reported, the new season 3 of Riverdale has a confirmed two, new characters on board. CW recently put out a casting call for a new female and male father and daughter duo named Evelyn Evernever and Edgar Evernever. They are both described as being “major” recurring characters.
Evelyn’s casting call/description information reads like this: “Female, Late Teens – Early 20’s to play Late Teens, Open Ethnicity. Otherworldly, seemingly omnipresent, and a bit odd. She’s eager to befriend Betty, and is surprisingly insightful for her age, but may be hiding dark secrets about herself. (While not required, a possible direction for the role is a girl who is physically reminiscent of “Betty”.) MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR.”
Edgar’s casting call/description information reads like this: “Male, Late 30’s – Early 40’s, Open Ethnicity. A recent arrival in Riverdale with his daughter Evelyn, Edgar is a new-age health “guru” who has helped Alice get her life together after the events of Season Two. He’s attractive, in a neighborly way, and charismatic—a wise, comforting presence. (An actor with ‘90’s-2000’s pop-culture cachet is a plus.) MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR.”
The Evelyn character sounds particularly interesting since she supposedly has a couple of dark secrets she may be hiding about herself. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how these two new characters ultimately fit in to the new, 3rd season. We’ll definitely let you guys know if we hear any new details on them.
Other recent Riverdale season 3 reports have suggested that the season will have a Sin City type of vibe to it now that Veronica’s father Hiram Hodge has taken over the town. We also might see Jughead’s mother Gladys and sister Jellybean show up on the scene at some point.
We might see some conflict arise among Jughead, Betty and Veronica when Archie gets thrown in jail because he’s pretty much the glue that holds them all together. It’s been confirmed by actress Madchen Amick who plays character Alice Cooper on the show that the weird Chic Cooper character will make a return in season 3 at some point. So, get ready for that.
We’re hearing that Jughead might try to break Archie out of jail at some point. Jughead’s portrayer Cole Sprouse is the one who mentioned that to TV Line. He might have been joking though. We’ll have to wait and see.
The new Riverdale season 3 is officially scheduled to debut on Wednesday night, October 10th, 2018 at 7 pm central standard time on The CW. Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our Riverdale Facebook page for more Riverdale news by Clicking Here.
